View Full Version : Which deal is better?

They just mentioned that Jets did offer Jordan and their #1. Is that better since we would keep the #2? I love Portis but giving up that #2 still irks me. It's really going to make me angry when they trade away the impact player at #5 and move down to make up for the mistake of giving up the #2 in the first place. I don't know. It's a tough call as to which one is better.

This essentially gains us two picks, since we keep the #2 and gain the Jets' #1. Also, I believe Jordan is a starting-caliber back. Still... Portis is ridiculously good. I'd like to see them throw a bit more in there.

I think either way we are going to be happy.

Needless to say I perfer the Jets deal. If we get Portis we get one player if we do the Jets deal we get. 4.... Probably 4 starters... Jordan..... No.5 Pick . Sean Taylor.... No 12... Pick Vince Wilfolk or Randy Starks.... and who we take with our 2nd....
Trust me when I tell you Portis is no where near the football player Sean Taylor is.

Jordan probably wouldnt be any better at RB then what the Skins have, so they would still need to address the RB position, so thats a wasted pick: Portis is a superstar the question is could either the #12 pick or the second rounder be better than Portis; the odds are it wont be, do the Denver trade.

maybe, you dont know that for a fact, he could be good, he could be a bust. And the skins still might get both...

Sean Taylor was a better high school running back than Portis was.....

I don't care what the deal is at this point; I just don't think we should be in the business of giving away draft picks.

Yea, maybe we could use that #2 on another Taylor Jacobs.

It doesnt matter which deal is better because the Portis deal is happening.

I agree Yudo. Being torn on the issue, I think that Jordan and a first wouldn't be bad. It's not as sexy as Portis, but having watched Jordan a few games. I think he will be a better player than anyone we have. I also think we would be fine with Staley, who I do like a lot.

It's a moot point now.

Too late now isn't it? Only question remains whether or not Ifeani stays around or not so Portis can pick his number.

Guys Jordan is not much of a upgrade at RB or the Jets would never let him go. I would much rather have the Lions 1 and 2. Now thats a deal.

Comparing Jordan and Portis at the high school level? you might as well compare dental records, who has better teeth. it's not going to tell the better impact player in the nfl. portis hands down.

I prefer Portis all the way, no question. Jordon may be good, but Jordon is not and wont be a Portis.

As I have said before I prefer young proven players (Portis) over picks anyway. We can still get Taylor with the 5th pick and have the best young RB in hte whole league. Jordan can not even beat out the 100 year old Martin so the Jets can keep thier pick and Jordan

Are you kidding me?? Portis who is one of the top 3 backs in the NFL at 23 is as good a caliber player as onyone on the planet especially a guy who has never played a down in the NFL. I like Taylor - could be a great pick at #5 but this is taking it a little too far.

I agree. Taylor will probably be a very good player, but no one knows for sure. Portis has shown that he is a dominent player in the league(say all you want about the Broncos system, oline, etc) but there are only a few teams that wouldnt trade for Portis if offered
