I absolutely guarantee it. Rack this , keep it written down...............11-5 next year, NFC east champs, NFC semi or better.

We have no defense. That said, ill wait and see what we do with that side of the ball before I make any guesses as to our record next season.

Well I guarantee that our offense is in the top 10 in the league. My my, with Coles, Portis, and Brunell, this is quite the ballsy prediction isn't it?

You never know...but on paper, yes: we look really, really good. However, every year we look really, really good...I think this year is different, but without a D-line, we will stink.

We play in the NFC East. Defense matters here. If we were playing in the AFC West, you might be able to make those claims, but until our defense improves, I won't make too many predictions let alone say we will be 11-5. We say that every year and haven't even sniffed it.

I am always a very positive person about the redskins but we have to wait and see what we do on D. As of right now our d is worse than last year so that being said.....we will suck.
Save it, cause I don't want to read it. Who cares how we look on paper, we manage to screw it up every year so I'm not getting overly excited until i see RESULTS.

We could have been 10 and 6 last year if we won a couple of those close ones even with all our mistakes. I think right now, the way things are going.... with new respect for our new staff...11-5 will happen.

It does seem like we invest pleny in offense and ignore defense... which results in the same thing each year.

Next year should be interesting to say the least.
To the remarks that we always forget the defense, that just started last offseason. If I do rememeber correctly, this is really the only year in the past 4 that our defense has really sucked. We have had a top 15 finish in overall defense in the past 4 years? I also seem to remember us signing big contracts with Trotter, Armstead, Bruce Smith, and dare I say Sanders? (not that was a good move or anything) + we have drafted alot of defensive starters, Arrington, Bailey (sniff), Smoot, etc.
So yeah I think our front office has done a decent job with d-talent. Now that we finally have a "real" coach, 2 good quarterbacks, maybe a very good running back, and some wide receivers (without the last name of westbrook), our defense won't be on the field 90% of time.
and with that......I am very confident that the Redskins will finally have a winning season.......

why is anyone comparing the current team o the one last season? we have gibbs babck baby and i think that alone gets us a couple wins...
i do hope ramsey gets his head straight and beats out brunell.

HEY ... if the Bucs can with the SB with no offense ... seems like we have a shot with no defense

Yea I am just trying to be a skins fan with the 11-5 remark. If we don't improve our D we are screwed.
Gibbs is too intelligent and experienced to mess up the draft. He'll get it done. He's already staying up all hours, according to media, at Redskins Park and wherever else to get planning done for next season.

Dude...put down the playstation controllers and come back to earth. People who make predictions this early in the pre pre PRE off-season obviously haven't been watching the redskins too long. Wait until the season starts and then make your predictions...carefully. Hail

Everyone needs to cut the SB and Playoff talk out now. Our first goal needs to be to reach .500. We weren't even an average team last year and now everyone sees SB. We have been the kings of the offseason the last few seasons but until we prove anything we all need to keep the predictions reasonable.

in all likelyhood we will do well, but dont think SB win till we get a solid defense as well, just look to last years cheifs and 2002's raiders for proof

Defense wins Championships. Ask the Chiefs. Ask the Raiders. No offense might get you a lot of wins, but not the most important ones: the ones in January.

Og course, with the team we have right now, our d sucks. First off, no bailey. However, I feel that with the players we had last year and williams guiding the D, we would have been considerably better in that aspect. Still had no line. Gibbs has a plan, he said so. I tend to believe him. He's never needed top 5 d's to win and I think within the next couple weeks our roster will be filled with enough talent to give us at least a top 15, if not 10 D. I know d wins championships, but tell that to Gibbs.

lets have "cautious optimism". We can't continue to talk smack year after year (because of Snyder's 'off season' moves) only to have a 7-9 or 8-8 season. Things look bright and JOE GIBBS is back, but it's going to take some time for everything to gel. My ONLY prediction at this point is that we will (or at least should) be better than last years 5-11. Does anyone miss Spurrier? LOL.

lets not go with spurrier's insight of his two seasons in one topic. after free agency and draft, then i will make a prediction.

It's funny how people are slammed for being optimistic. I say more power to you if you can be so optimistic after nearly a decade of losing.
With Gibbs back I'm not part of the doom and gloom that tries to stamp out any optimism. I'll just let nature take it's course but I do think we'll be much better.
Whether or not we get the breaks or injuries or whatever, who knows. Sometimes the win/loss record doesn't tell the whole story... but i think we'll be a better team.

thats why i hate sports sometimes, bad teams make 1 deal and they think they are going all the way, you have dallas and eagles in your division, i mean redskins are a good team but not a deep playoff one.

if we just go .500 for the year, it would still be a major step in the right direction.

I heard the NFL reporter for my local radio station out here in Dallas and his oppinion was that the Skins would s start out strong maybe win 5 straight and then colapse to finish last in the NFC East. He thinks its going to take Gibbs a year to figure out that you need young players to get through the season. I am going to have to see what they do on the defense before I have an oppinion. I guess these expert NFL reporters don't need to see if the defense is improved before they voice they're oppinion. Will come out and say that we will finish better than last in our division and we are going to have possibly the toughest division.

Wasn't that long ago. The Rams in 1999. Also, the Raiders at least got there with a bad defense. No, the stats didn't really show it, but I've got a few friends that are Oakland fans and they say the main reason the defense had good stats in 2002 was because the offense scored so often that no one could run against them much. Fast forward to 2003, and.....

we arent an old team....i dont know what the dallass guy is talking about. the guys we are going after in FA arent old either. adding brunell doesnt make this team old. i think we will get most of the guys that we've targeted because of gibbs. he has talked a whale into buying water before so, i dont see why he cant do it again.

I find it interesting that he considers our team old. Coles, Portis (if deal is done), McCants, Gardner, Jacobs, Samuels, Lavar, Smoot, etc... I wouldn't call that old.

Agreed. All this talk of WInfield has made me sick. No. Don't sign any big names unless at least two defensive lineman(starter caliber) are signed.
