Assuming Garcia gets cut, who would have been the better option? Garcia for less money (probably) and keep the 3rd round pick or what we gave up for Brunell. I think the price on Garcia may have been better, especially now that we gave up the 2nd and are talking about moving down.

If I had to either, I would go with Brunell. Theyre the same age, but Brunell is a better pure passer

both are wayyyy better options than Ramsey...but if I had the choice of the two I would of gone with Garcia...but all of my support is for Brunnell now!

Brunell is the man. I think he's slightly better than Garcia. Garcia has the better numbers but that is because of the team he plays with and the system. I truely think we're going to see career years from Brunell, and his QB rating will be a top 5!

Garcia probably won't be less, in fact his agent will use the Brunell signing as leverage. Also, the 49ers may keep him. There is a huge problem going on with Terrell Owens and whatever happens to him will dictate what happens to Garcia (and peterson)

Garcia would NOT have been cheaper. I believe he has one of the highest QB contracts in the league, far higher than was Brunell was earning. I saw it just the other day; just don't remember the $$$ number right now.....damn Alzheimer's :D

Found it. Garcia signed a 6 year deal in 2001 for $36 million. His salary for the coming year is $10 million. So he is going to want a lot more than what we paid for Brunell

We've gone over this before. Garcia has a weak arm and had Terrell Owens to throw to. Brunell's arm is better, which is a must for Gibbs.
