This one line says it all!!

Start with the Washington Redskins, because owner Daniel Snyder is the closest thing to eBay in the NFL. At the moment, this is Kearse's most likely destination. :lol1:

I dont think Skins will sign Kearse unless he comes cheaper than advertised. There are cheaper DLmen who are significant downgrades from Kearse

Gibbs is getting the hang of the salary cap thing. He knows his limit. If not, he will have a few other coach's tell him so. Kearse sounds like he will be a little high for Joe.

kearse's health problems scare me away... in a strict salary cap world, losing a high paid players can be a killer.

I sincerely doubt that Kearse will come here if we get a Portis. There just won't be enough money under the cap. It's a nice thought, and in a cap free world it would be no problem. But then we'd be considered the Yankees, and that would suck!

Jevon Kearse's best and most healthy years came when Greg Williams was in Tennessee. Williams is going to want Kearse here and Kearse has already been quoted as saying he would love to be coached by Williams again. It seems like a good fit to me.

I can't imagine he'd get a Ray Lewis deal. We'd probably pay a lot for him though.

That is all fine and dandy and true...but what about the money. I doubt Kearse will come here for chump change.

Kearse and his agent are talking BIG money. Their problem is I think there are few teams willing to pay him that much money. I think his asking price will come in lower than what they have been talking. Remember, it's the agent's job to pump up the market value. Kearse has been hurt the last two years and that, in itself, will discourage some teams. I also think we will see more teams go the FA route used by New England and Carolina. Rather than sign the expensive high profile players, sign several key role playing FAs. That will drive down the market value of guys like Kearse.

Gibbs likes across the board talent and being deep with the reserves. That means he and Danny cannot go hog wild on guys like Kearse.

I don't know. I'd be a little concerned if we make a big "splash" with Kearse. He's not going to come cheap and if he gets injured we'll be screwed.

I think the money and injury questions are too large and I'd rather sign a few quality FA's than one star and a couple of scrubs.

I would love to have a great pass rusher... just injury questions me

Why don't we get Winstrom. Then we could get a quality DT in FA to go with him and trade down and draft another young DT to go along with him. Three quality players would be better then one great player particuarly when that one player(Kearse) seems to get hurt a lot.
