Remember him:confused:. Spurrier leftover. Does anyone see him having a breakout year. After all, he was our highest draft pick last year and we signed him for 5 years. Some draft experts placed him in the top 5 WR's coming out last year. What do you think his role will be this year.

Also, what about Hasselbeck? Do you guys like him as a 3rd string (or 2nd string) QB? Do you think that Gibbs will keep him around....................or is he still shopping for QB's?

I think wr's always show their worth in their 3rd year. I think Jacobs can be a Ricky Sanders type wide out. Hasselbeck could be 3rd string because he tough and smart. Pitiful arm strength though but I think overall the players on offense like and trust him so keeping him around as our 3rd option is not a bad idea.

Hasselbeck will be lucky to be a #3 QB with the Redskins this year. Gibbs likes passers with big arms. Every QB he has ever selected for himself has had a big arm.

Don't know about Jacobs. He didn't show much last year, but he was a rookie, injured to start the year, and playing in a preposterous offense. He'll get his chance now.

I don't see a breakout year for him.

I think Jacobs sees a few plays a game but will definitely not get past being the third WR. I think McCants beats him out for the significant playing time.

Hasselbeck will be lucky to make the roster, but I could be wrong. If Ramsey is traded or released (I knonw Gibbs says he's not) I don't see Gibbs going in with concussion case Brunell and Hasselbeck as his main backup. Look for Hasselbeck to have to compete with another QB invite for that 3rd QB position.

i dont expect to see jacobs get much playing time behined coles, and hopefully in the order of mccants and then gardner. i think hasselbeck will want to see his value and try to find a starting job elsewhere, but i would like to have him back as a 3rd/2nd stringer.

Jeez... with the exclamation point i thought he had been waived or something.

If Rod is still here next year, i'm not sure how much Taylor can make an impact as the #4. I do think that he will show enough that we'll let Rod go via FA next year.

Whats the name of that WR that was speedy that never did jack for us that we drafted in Spurriers first year...He aint gonna last unless he shows super improvement.

I doubt Taylor will see a lot of playing time. He's behind three guys who won't be losing their spots.

Kind of remember him being ranked 3rd best by Tsn draft guide. But unless they move Rod or somehow Lose Darnerien playing time will be hard to come by. Hate to say if there's an injury to anyone in front of him, then maybe he gets alot? Have a feeling the kids going to be good, and would like to see him make an impact this year. Think Russell has any chance???

This is why hopefully we could trade gardner especially since he will be a FA next year and hes gonna want to get paid, so trade him for some picks this year, put mccants at 2 and jacobs at 3...As for russell, hes so fast he blows out his knee walking on the field

Taylor may surprise a lot of folks. Because of his injury he never had a chance to get playing time. McCants did well at time and is a big receiver. But Taylor's speed and hands will give him plenty of playing time.

I can't believe folks are so down on him when they never had a chance to see him perform.

McCants did well but folks thought Thompson two years ago was going to become a superstar and he was just so-so for Miami this past year. The third receiver gets the worst coverage so should be open more often.....

i could see taylor having a good year for a #3. at least i hope so. hasselback contract is up, right? i think he may end up back in philly since the eagles traded feeley. the eagles have said they didnt want to cut hasselback ,but he was caught in the numbers game.

Not Tex, but Spurrier drafted Russle in his first year as HC. However Russel hurt his knee on the practice field at training camp at Carlisle. So we had to wait until this past year to get a glimpse of him and his abilities.

Jacobs was a completely worthless 2nd round pick ... no impact last season ... none this season ... maybe none ever

I wish that Snyder had sided with Cerrato and taken Doss with that pick.

What happened to trading Gardner, using McCants as the posession receiver with Jacobs as the 3rd wide out?

The best thing about Jacobs is that he seems to be a nice guy. If we could get anything for him, which I doubt, I'd be in favor of trading him right now. I really don't think he's tough enough to succeed in the NFL.

There are definitely too many receivers in this offense. They should definitely shop Gardner.

I can see coach Gibbs giving Taylor every chance to impress during the preseason and if he doesn't, he will see alot of punt and kickoff coverage

And what kind of draft choice and from which team are we going to get them for Gardner and Jacobs. Jacobs was injured most of the year and unable to show his ability and Gardner had a down year.

The draft is full of talented receivers. I don't think we would get much more than a third round pick at best. And that's not a good deal for the Skins.

I see keeping Coles and Gardner as the primary two receivers with McCants and Jacobs getting playing time as the matchups entail. I mean, if we're talking about a goal-line situation, D-Mac is going to be in there. If it's a third and long and there's a lot of speed on the field, they'll probably go with Jacobs and/or Russell to make guys decide whether they quit doubling Coles. It probably will depend on the personnel the other teams secondary has to offer. Both can have good, productive years if the coaching staff uses them properly, and that's what Gibbs does best.

Taylor J hasn't proved anything yet but I still give him a chance. Let's see what he ( and every other WR ) can do with a real coaching staff

Unless Gardner is traded, I dont' see him getting on the field much. Coles, Gardner and McCants, that's pretty deep. That is unless they decide not to resign DMC.

I'm not a Dr. but from what I read on T.J.s injury it was a very, very serious matter! Didn't they have to monitor his blood for weeks ? months? I don't know, but from things I had read if he wasn't a young guy in great shape to begin with I had the feeling it was very close to being life threatening! The stuff I read didn't exactly say that, but they seemed to alluding to that! That's my own take on it.

He did a have serious injury and I think he is going to breakout this year. He caught 3 passes and one was a TD. He eventually will be the #2 WR. If we trade Gardner it will have this year.

Jacobs didn't prove anything to anyone because he really didn't have the opportunity to do so!

First off, he is a rookie, who was only going to get WR3 time, if anything.

Secondly, NO ONE should expect great things from a rookie WR. Moss and Boldin are the exceptions to the rule. 99% of the other first day WR draftees don't contribute to the team until their 2nd or most likely 3rd year.

My only concern is that Gardner's presence will take away playing opportunities for Jacobs. I'd prefer to trade Gardner away for a 2nd rounder and let DMC and Jacobs get a chance to prove something.

Personally Jacobs-keep him-trade no difference to me......I hear ALOT of Judgement getting passed Gardner-.......Which is somewhat deserved as well..........Personally I would like to see how Gardner performs under the Gibbs offensive scheme......I am hoping for a DRAMATIC Improvement.........should that be the case it will be Coles, Gardner, & McCants........

Overall I am pretty excited about prospects next year......I can't wait to use my nice new shiny RB {Portis}.......... :D
