Two people close to Abraham said neither he nor Ellis was offered to the Redskins as part of the Jets' bid to acquire Bailey, who is all but certain to be dealt to the Broncos for running back Clinton Portis.
I think this deal ultimately might have been better. They wouldn't have to worry about trading down and could take Taylor at #5. With the #12 they could get Harris, Udeze, Wilfork or one of the 2 stud corners. And they would still be able to take another good DL at 41. Jordan and Betts would probably be OK in Gibbs offense or they could even grab Greg Jones at 41. Oh well.
