just out of my curious nature...i said players - i think joe gibbs has always relied on top-notch players who have proven their worth time and time again.

I think you need a blend of picks and FA to make things work over the long haul salary cap wise. There aren't many FA worth having that will work for the minimum.

Here's how Snyder did last year. The following players were selected in the slots the Skins traded away.

L. Coles vs. Pats DL Ty Warren
Warren - 33 total tackles, 1 sack

T. Canidate vs. Rams CB DeJuan Groce
Groce - 20 total tackles, 1 Int, 1 Pass defended

C. Morton vs. Jets S Derek Pagel
Pagel - 10 tackles

M. Bowen vs. Eagle OT Jeremy Bridges
Bridges - No Stats

J. Haley vs. Panther WR Walter Young
Young - o catches

I will almost always say player, as long as the player is a younger player but still has a few years in the NFL and produced

I chose either way, too many factors that factor in to call one over the other.

The way the Salary Cap is in the NFL you need picks. Especailly the high picks we have or had this year. Young players that you picked in the draft can let you have the cap space to grab those key guys here and there.

I personally liked the deals they did last year especailly someone like Coles, but the Brunell deal is a waste of the third pick which could have been a solid defensive player. The deal even looks worse when you give Brunell the huge bonus and you already have a comptent player at the QB spot.

I'd say our trading picks for young experienced vets worked in our favor last year by a wide margin.

No arguments here. Thanks for the stats, Odyn.
