We are getting closer to the draft and are seeing a lot of free agency activity.
If nothing further happens with our beloved Redskins until draft day - what advice would you give Cerrato, Snyder and Coach Gibbs on that morning? ? ?

I think we need to trade down. We need people to develop now, so in 2006 when a lot of cap casualties come, we can have groomed players ready to go to avoid spending big bucks on more FA.

I have been thinking about this and I believe we should keep the pick and draft the best player on the board. I believe we are going to help the defensive line through free agency and that will enable us to be only a player or two away from where we need to be, if we can upgrade the safety spot with a monster safety then I believe we should do it

Trade down a few spots, pick up a second round pick, use the first pick on the best defensive lineman available. Use the second round pick on the best defensive lineman or cornerback available.

Aside from getting an additional draft pick, I'd like to trade down because I think the Skins are hitting the ceiling in terms of money they should be paying out in signing bonuses. Moving down a few spots could really save some cap space in the next three years.

I have to agree with Skins57... we are doing a good job at filling the holes in FA and so grabbing the best player on the board (be it Taylor or Winslow) would be a great move to continue improving our team.

Funny thing about the future in the NFL... it always seems to work itself out.

NamVet, you mean in addition to twiddling our thumbs?

We almost have to trade it down now - our FA signings are/will almost max us out. I'd trade it for a #1 next year and a #2 & #3 this year.

you guys are really pissing off the draft Taylor folks.

We can move down a couple of spots, pick up a pick and still draft Udeze.

We have no choice but to draft Udeze now. Our DE position is in red alert status.

There are about 8 elite players in this draft and we need to take one!! I think we should take Taylor to solidify the secondary. Winslow could be an option also. If they are to trade down they should only go a couple of spots and that's only if it's too good to turn down. It's too high to take one of the DL so if they go that route they might as well trade with the Texans or something. Take Taylor!

It all depends on who we sign before the draft. If there is still is a glaring hole come draft time, then it needs to be filled. Otherwise take the best player available, unless another team offers you a deal that you can't refuse.

If we don't get Taylor I am going to be really upset... I can already see him in B&G knocking the $#*! out of Shockey going across the middle.

with only two darft choices int he entire draft, this is a no brainer. Trade down.

I'd love to see Taylor as a 'Skin but the fact of the matter is that we have more excessive needs to fill at the moment. Trade the draft picks and get some depth.

Saen taylor or one of the two top receivers (Fitzgerald or Williams). If we can't get one of these three (we should) then trade down.

Unless we sign 2 more Dlinemen then i'd say trade down, if we do sign 2 more then I say Taylor.

Keep the pick and draft S Sean Taylor if he is still there if not draft the best player on the board regaurdless of pos. If it is either of the wrs Larry Fitzgerald,Mike Williams or qbs Eli Manning , Rosenthel we can trade for more picks.

If we sign another LB and another DE or DT, then just draft Taylor or the best available reciever (Mike Williams should be there). Only trade down if we can't sign Wiley, Winstrom, or Coleman for another DL.

trade down for more picks, like a 1st and 2nd rounder in the middle.

if taylor is gone trade down, otherwise draft taylor

if we want another draft pick trade garner for a 2nd or 3rd, take advantage of the weak free agent class of wide receivers

I was huge on drafting Taylor. His pro day at Miami was supposedly a terrible work out. I'm sure we had scouts there and this may sway their decision. With that said, if we dont sign an accomplished DE then we should get Udeze at #5 or later if we can pull it off.

I would love to have Sean Taylor, but we need at least 2-3 more picks in the draft. We're spending like crazy on these free agents, but we need to get some youngin's in there that we don't have to break the bank on. There will still be plenty of great players to fill the holes if we trade down to a late first rounder and early-to-mid second rounder.

Sean Taylor has a ton of talent. i'd rather draft a kid who has proven that he is a gamer and sucks in the combine, rather than a college no-body that is a workout warrior (see Mike Mamula). Taylor can play, period. Add him to what looks like a much-improved defense (on paper at least) and couple that with good coaching and we should be all set.

I think we should trade our 1st rounder for a later 1st and 2nd rounder. Take another DT in the 1st and a safety or te in the 2nd. Safety Bob Sanders from Iowa should be there in the 2nd as should Troupe, Peters and Watson at TE

GET TAYLOR

dline can be addressed and already partly has in FA now if we can get a safety back there....WOW with greg Williams

With all of the huge signing bonuses we are handing out, and probably more to come, I think it makes sense to trade out of the number five spot, which will surely be a 10 million plus bonus and go down to around #10 and gain additional picks. We need some cheap labor.

Thanks everyone for casting your vote !

Forget trading Gardner, were not gonna get value for him. Trade down in the first and take D-line. Get another good player in the second round. This draft is very deep.

I'd like to trade with the Pats and get their 2 #1's for our #5 we could get 2 good young D Lineman than in the 1st. there really aren't any FA D Lineman left out there

I think Taylor would be a good pick but trading down is the likely option now. Trade the 5th overall pick with the Pats for the 21st, 56th, and 63rd selections.

My Picks
Round 1(21) Marquise Hill DE LSU 6-7 305 Has excellent speed for a man his size. Potential sleeper of this draft.

Round 2(41) Jake Grove C Va Tech 6-2 295 Best C in the draft, and a definite need position for the Skins.

Round 2(56) Sean Jones S Georgia 6-2 220 Playmaker who would probably end up starting and help build for the future.

Round 2(63) Issac Hilton DE Hampton 6-3 267 Some might call him a reach, but he is a very interesting player whose stock is rising from a good combine. Described as a natural pass rusher with 4.57 speed in the forty, he would probably be the fastest lineman on the Redskins. Negatives are that he needs work against the run and tends to get locked up too long.

Round 5(134) Sean Locklear OL NC State 6-4 300 Versatile lineman who has played both G and T. Converted DL he has only played on the OL for 2 years. Needs to continue work on technique and develope more of an attitude. Good Pass Protector that could eventually develope into a starter.
