POLL . . . Redskins Website Intro Poll

I have created a list of potential intro's to the Redskins website. Remember the intro will be between 25 - 40 seconds and will be seen only the first time you go to the skins site or after you clear your cookies (if you have cookies disabled you will see it every time). The intro will be skippable.

Potential Intro's:

1) Video Clip Intro #1 - Skins History

Series of short video clips throughout skins history starting with the old and ending with the newest clips. Intro would end with a shot of Gibbs and the 3 SB trophies and a quote from JG.

2) Video Clip Intro #2 - Player Morph

Series of short video clips with the old players morphing into the new players. Like a pass to Art Monk . . . as Monk make the catch he morphs in L. Coles and scores the TD. A clip of D. Green dropping back into coverage and morphing into F. Smoot as he completes the interception . . . Ending with "welcome to the new era of Washington Redskins football" (or something like that . .. you guys could come up with the phrase).

3) Video Clip Intro #3 - Gibbs Clips

Series of short video clips or Joe Gibbs quotes, press conference stuff, etc.

4) Photo Slide Show - Audio

Series of Redskins photos highlighting the history of the franchise . . . short Audio clips in between the pics to build up to the current skins team . . .

5) Cartoon Type Animated Intro

Animated Redskin cartoon . . . players caricatures would be used to create characters. (coaches too) . . . could be funny . . . kind of like the animated game previes Tampa Bay does on there website during the weeks before games.

in fairness to the many greats over the years I think if you do the morph you should have it be more than one old player ... maybe 3, 4 or more ... Baugh, Jurgensen, Kilmer, Theismann, etc. just for example

It would be a series of morphs at different positions.

1-4 are great ideas.. the cartoon idea could be held back and be usable to users on the site. But your are right Guru, our main Skins' site suck ass compared to some other teams so GOOD LUCK!

I like the morphing idea a lot. It sounds "cool". But I think the Skins History intro will sell better to Danny Snyder and his marketing boys. Besides, Danny and company have already eschewed "cool" from their web site. So many possibilities and they have chosen to host a very boring web site.

The cartoon idea sounds great, too, and would probably be a blast if the caricatures are done well.....but the Skins would not be impressed. "Funny" is not the impression they would want to leave with their web visitors. I don't think this would go over well with the Skins.

The Redskins have a rich history with some exciting players, coaches, owners and events. You could also overlay still photos, especially of the older folks and events. Danny Snyder seemed to really love the 70th Anniversary celebration and the selection of the top 70 Redskins of all time. He is also revisiting his past glory years by bringing back Gibbs. I think this is your best bet to get your foot in the door.

Of course, Hail to the Redskins MUST be playing in the background.

Won't be easy . . . especially with the new Skins players like Portis, Brunell, Springs, etc . . . we have no clips of them in skins uniforms.
