I also remember his comment about african-americans should be dragged behind cars with chains and how he went to his apology news conference in a limo.

Do some research before you judge a man. He's friend's with Byrd's sister now.

He still said it, it was wrong to say. He deserves to be outcast. It doesnt matter that he's friends with the victim's sister now: thats sort of like saying a bunch of ethnics slurs and as your defense saying: "I have a lot of (enter Ethnic group) friends"...

I guess you don't believe in forgiveness at all.

To quote JFK: "You should forgive, but never forget"

No one is saying forget it. The man has clearly paid his dues for his moronic comment.

There's a website that covers the radio/TV for the Dc area: dcrtv.com I remember two weeks before the Greaseman said his stupid comment it reported that he was going to be fired because of his rating, if this is true this is even worse: he did it just as publicity stunt.

I think doing it as a publicity stunt is better than if he really meant it.

so Rush Limbaugh should be back on ESPN's pregame show?
Jimmy the Greek(If he wasnt suffering for an advanced case of death) should be back on CBS?

the fact is that Grease isnt on the air because of this stupid comment, his career was dying for years before this: He had a nationally syndicated radio show, then a marginally syndicated show, back to a local washington radio show. Last I hear he was on a Korean station off on E st.

I could care less if he's ever on the radio. I don't listen to guys like him. I just think that there is a double-standard regarding who should be forgiven for racist statements.

It wasnt just a racist statement: he was indirectly advocating the hate crimes. Saying an ethnic slur can be forgived rather quickly, but what he said deserves some exile.

Cmon guys, lets not get everyone started on a touchy topic.

Huh. I guess that could be taken as offensive on both sides. I'm sure there are a lot of white athletes and african-american MENSA members who might disagree. As you present what JTG said, it seems more an insensitive statement made out of ignorance than an intentional shot.

I don't think it holds a candle to what the Greaseman said... twice. What the heck was a "comic" on air personality thinking saying something like that about any person or group? He couldn't have actually thought it was going to be funny to anybody... could he?

Anyway, Greaseman has to live with his past. I can understand if folks want to forgive him. I can understand if some don't.

In any event, I wouldn't give him a job.

Greaseman is a jackass, but everyone deserves a chance at redemption and forgiveness.
