Gibbs is no dummy though, he would not have done this if it wasn't part of some kind of plan. My guess is that they're hoping this is the last spending crazy we're gonna see in Gibbs' tenure and that will be the basic core.

Why should this be the last spending frenzy? If we need more players next year then we will be back in the FA hunt.

Remember, Gibbs has never coached under the salary cap. He is taking all of his advice from Cerrato, who was with the 49ers until they crashed and burned due problems they faced with the cap. I fear the same thing will happen to us down the road that happened with the 49ers.

That article wasn't negative. It's true, Snyder is taking a huge risk with his money. And if we do end up winning the Super Bowl he will have bought it. So what? Glazer acknowledged that the guys we have brought in are young and they need to perform. They do.

I'm wondering what people around the league think of Cornelius Griffin. Glazer said, "and even Cornelius Griffin" when he talked about those that aren't sure things. Is this a good thing? I don't know anything about Mr. Griffin.

Just brushing the dirt off my shoulders...
Coach Gibbs has a plan. I see things as coming together. What that means for the future and the cap and the players and the free agents and the media and the other owners and the other fans and the future players is....
Building a winner costs. If so many deal are "backloaded" then the business end is to re-tool, re-negotiate, re-invent the business of doing business.
GO 'SKINS!!!

Well said. I thought the article was one of the best I've seen at explaining what we're doing.

Yes...but the 49ers are currently "crashing and burning" a 2nd time. The difference this time is that it isn't Vinny's fault!
