Do the Redskins have any players that are poised to take a leadership role on the team? There has been a ton of player turn over the past two years. Furthermore, with Arrington and Ramsey being disgruntled I'm not sure where the team leaders are going to come from.

I guess a related question is whether the concept of locker-room leadership is over rated.

arrington will still be the leader.... this little contract problem wont stop him from playing his best.

Arrington has hardly been a leader on this team. He is expected to be a leader, but he has not done much but talk since he said he was gonna be defensive MVP. I'm still waiting for a leader to show up on this team.

I do think he is/will be our leader. His actions on the field just do all the talk.

Smoot's definitely a leader.

I think we will see Brunell take on the leadership role on offense and LaVar on defense

I think we have a born leader in Marcus Washington. Many of the Colt forums i have visited to see what they were saying abotu Marcus was the fact that not only were they losing a big on field presence, but huge emotional leadership.

I agree that Arrington has not stepped up to be a leader yet. He has potential to be one.

I also agree Smoot is a leader. I thought he was a great leader last year. He plays hurt, he bleeds Bugandy and Gold. Loved his attitude last year.

If Smoot qualifies as being a leader from what you just described, then why doesn't LaVar qualify? Seems to me that they share the same qualities.

I think now that LaVar is not competeing with Bailey for leadership duties, he will be the uncontested leader.

Smoot plays last year with a bruise/break in his chest, he can't talk, sleep horizontally, or breath right and he still shuts down people...thats awesome

Coles is the same way as Smoot for offense, if we're looking for locker room leaders look to those two. It looks like Washington and Portis are bringing great attitudes, so hopefully there won't be any problems in the locker room this year.

there is no denying that smoot proved his mettle last year...i was definitly impressed, and i liked him before.

Lavar is tough but he needs to play better, which i really believe he will this year. He as learned about the league and now will be coached correctly.

But I really think the offensive, and perhaps team leader, will be Clinton Portis. I think his work ethic and production, like Ray-Ray, will spark the entire offense.

.......and i expect the team to draft taylor, which will do the same thing for the defense....

I am still waiting for LaVAr to step up into this role. My big reason for saying he is not a leader is in big games he seems to disappear. When LaVar starts to take over games and lead us to victory, he will become the uncontested leader but I need to see more out of him first

Apparently D. Green "passed the leadership torch" to Samuels, but whether or not Samuels used it is still up for debate.

I think Lavar and Jansen are going to be considered our two biggest leaders this year.

Mark Brunell will serve as the team leader, no question. He plays QB and has been there before.
