View Full Version : Players Missing from Official Skin Roster

I can't take credit for finding this....found it on another board....but it is true.
The Redskins have updated their roster on www.Redskins.com and the following players are no longer listed:
David Terrell
Zeron Flemister
Patrick Johnson
Martin Chase
Bernard Holsey
Bruce Branch
Orantes Grant
I thought they would hold onto Holsey since he played pretty well but I did see he was visiting other teams. The Patrick Johnson fans won't be happy.
And I am really surprised David Terrell is gone already. I know he had a poor season but he played well on special teams. No wonder they are looking for a safety. The Skins are also probably looking for another nickel back, too.
ON THE OTHER HAND, it is very nice to see CLINTON PORTIS' name on the roster!!

Then why do the Skins list Zellner on their roster even though he is ALSO a free agent? Suggests the Skins still consider him part of the team but they have cut ties with the other FAs.
Also, most of our Restricted Free Agents are still listed on the roster and technically, they are also NOT part of the team. They are not signed to play with us. We simply have the right to match any other offer and they have to sign with us.
I think it is a clear signal Joe is not considering those players in his future plans. Otherwise, McCants and company would not be listed on the roster either.

I'd like to have Zellner around for depth. All the others I wouldn't miss. Holsey was actually pretty good too...

This instant updating of the roster at Redskins.com is something new. Usually they didn't have anything done until training camp started.

Orantes Grant was cut by the Skins mid year so he's been off for a while.

Patrick Johnson ended up being one of our best special teams players. I know Tampa Bay has plans to speak with him.
I would have liked to have seen the Skins hold onto him and Holsey. I guess they are going with Haley over Holsey? I hope they have some other plans for DTs.

They gave up a pick for Haley and he was hurt.I think the thought is that Haley with Griffin beside him will be more productive.Much like he helped out in Miami as part of a 3 man rotation with Gardener and Bowens. To tell you the truth I wouldnt mind getting Gardener for our very own 3 man rotation at DT.

Ade Jimoh is still on the roster. I think your reading to much into the names here. If Ade is still in the Redskin's plans, I'm afraid!!!
