5 Redskins Mike Williams WR USC 2nd
(-3) 2/5
The team addressed its most pressing needs by signing free-agent DT Cornelius Griffin and free-agent DE Phillip Daniels. The Redskins would be thrilled if Williams falls into their lap, and he would top off the offensive overhaul. The team already has added RB Clinton Portis and QB Mark Brunell to incumbent WR Laveranues Coles. If the line plays up to its potential, the offense could be dominant.

Only way that happens is if they can get a 2nd rounder for Gardner. That way they could still grab some DL help or get Ben Troupe, TE from Georgia. Rasby will help but he is not the long-term answer.

As rich as this year is for WRs, I don't see us taking one.
I believe we will go get Taylorat #5 or trade down for Udeze, Harris or Wilfork.

Wow, taking Mike Williams would be a shocker. Don't really see it happening, mostly because I don't think we'll be picking with #5, but that would be a big surprise. I don't know how I would take it.

If Ramsey, Armstead... are not assured a starting spot, then Mr. G better start livin on the practice field.

It'd be nuts, unless McCants isn't returning and we have no intention to resign Rod in a year. I guess in that light, it does kinda make sense.
But we used our first pick on a WR last year... I think we have other needs. He's an awesome player though... temping.

What about if we trade Rod for a second rounder?

best youll get for Rod is a 3rd rounder, he's a UFA after next season

Akh, good point. Rod is on the market next year so a team might not be willing to give away a 2nd rounder they would have for the next 4 years for a guy who might walk after the season is over.

also keep in mind that Gardner is a UFA next season, McCants & Patrick Johnson might not be back during this offseason. So that would leave the skins with: Coles, Gardner(lame duck), Jacobs, Russell and Cloman. This position isnt a priority, but the skins will have to address it. If the skins trade down they might be able to draft someone like Michael Clayton or Reggie Williams.

A lot of people are saying M. Williams would be the 1st player picked if he stayed one more year. That's a lot of talent. He could be great. I trust they will make the right decision.

I don't see mike williams falling to No 5. Anyways, we probably are going to trade down.
