This is the way I see it. This is one of the deepest drafts that I can remember maybe of all time. Our problem is that we only have one pick. I say that if we want to make a super bowl run in the near future now is the time to lay the foundation. First we keep the #5 pick and take Taylor. Then we trade next years 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th for a pick in the 10-15 range and take Wilfork or Udeze. Then trade next years 2nd, 4th, 6th picks for an early second round pick and take Jake Grove. I know it sounds stupid to give up all your picks for next year, and I don't like getting rid of draft picks just like everyone else, but you have to look at these three factors that might make you change your mind. First, with this draft being so deep in talent you have to think that next years draft class won't be as good. Secondly, you would have to think that our record next year won't be nearly as bad as it was this year(My guess we'll be picking at least in the 15-25 range) so our pick next year will be worse than the 10-15 spot we'll get this year. Finally, it takes most rookies 2-3 years to come into their own as a pro, so instead of having to break a new rookie in next year our 1st round pick will already be in his second year. Any thoughts?
