Gibbs is on News4 right now, and he alluded when asked that Portis read that the Bucs D overcommitted and that cutback was NOT the original design for that play. Gibbs said he told him "Whatever that was, do it again!!"

You beat me to it. I was going to bring it up as well. He also deserves credit for his running and being mindful of the clock at the end of the game.

He deserves credit for havng the vision to ake the cut, and the speed to run by everybody. I don't think any of the other running backs on the skins could have turned that into a td.

The run was awsome. I said "He's gone!" before he crossed the line.

Good point, guys. The greatest backs have superior vision and are able to see plays develop just a quarter-second faster than other players. Portis reacted on his own to that play. That's why Dan Snyder is paying him $50.5 million to run a football.

Yeah, I agree... another RB would have just gone the other way, or delay just enough for someone to fill the gap.

Exactly, I was talking to someone after the game and was discussing the same thing. I personally haven't seen a running back in burgundy and gold with that kind of vision since we had this guy that wore #44. Stephen Davis was another that had pretty good vision.

a buddy of mine here at work said that some guys in his fantasy league were saying if you take away Portis's 64 yarder he only averaged 3 yards a carry and i said i got 2 things to say about that: 1. he had 48 yards on 12 carries in the 4th quarter against a great defense and effectively won the game for us... and 2. you cant take away the 64 yarder.

If I'm on kickoffs, I'm a little worried about what the coaches are going to do. Boy are they going to get drilled this week.
Also, George mentioned that Gruden said it was very loud in the stadium.

You're right. Gibbs will be spending a little extra time with the kickoff coverage units this week, which means he's concerned about it. He'll probably make them work until they drop and then tell them that if they don't like it they should tackle better against the Giants than they did against the Bucs.
That's what he used to do anyway.

We damn sure did our part.
There was an artical in the post I think it was that attributed that run to a great block by james thrash. I think it was great vision as well. While watching the play I first thought he was going nowhere because there was no room where he was headed. Before I could blink though, he had changed directions and was gone. Fent was pointing like a madman and we damn near hurt ourselves celebrating afterwards.
