Default A's trade Mulder to Cardinals for prospects

The A's are unloading and the NL powers are loving it...

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- The Oakland Athletics traded their second top starter in three days, sending left-hander Mark Mulder to the National League champion St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday for a package of prospects.

Mulder follows Tim Hudson out of town, leaving Barry Zito as the only remaining member of Oakland's vaunted ``Big Three'' pitchers. Hudson was dealt to Atlanta on Thursday for three mostly unproven players.

Mulder could be the top-notch pitcher the Cardinals sorely lacked when they got swept by the Boston Red Sox in the World Series, but that's if he's healthy.

Wow that's a big move, the O's again watch another top line pitcher fly by. If Mulder returns to his ace form after his off year last year, the Cardinals will be seriously nasty.

Believe me, I would love more than anything else to be the first to start a thread with Carlos Beltran or another big time Free Agent signing for the O's.

I'm beginning to give up hope that anything is gonna happen...It's frustrating!

Come on guys, make the jump over the Nats, even if it turns out being for one year.

If I were an A's fan, I wouldn't give my money the A's ever again. Its evident they are more worried about the pocket book than they are about winning. Every big name they seem to have had, they let go.

Alright, maybe just one . It's just hard, I used to go to games on 33rd Street as a kid. Hard to let go of old ties...Angelos is really perplexing me though.

I think the A's are turning into the Pirates or Expos of the American League. Kind of like a AAA breeding ground for the Majors...I agree, I wouldn't pay a dime to contribute to that!

GR, I can understand the tie to the O's. But the last 3-6 years has totally turned me against them. Plus the Raven fans have added a little. [that may sound wierd but I don't like the Dallas Mavericks/Stars due to the cowboy fan base]

And once angelos tried to keep MLB from going to DC, that was the last straw....

But I do understand where you're coming from.
