He didn't get the long term deal he wanted though. Really thought he would holdout for the long one, guess not.

There really isn't a market for Running Backs in the NFL. Look at how long it took Travis Henry to get traded....and that was for a 3rd round pick!

Alexander knows it is too late into the offseason for teams to pony up a 5-year contract with 20+ million guaranteed. He believes if he plays one final year in Seattle, that he will get his nut next year.

I hope so...he is a standup player and damn good RB.

He signed his franchise tender, right? What will that pay him this season? $6 million?

Right around that. These running backs know they can't run the ball forever, so they attempt to get "locked up" as soon as they have leverage.

Correct. Which sounds like a lot...but he knows he "could" get a 20 million dollar signing bonus with a real contract. Especially when he could tear his ACL this season, be forced to leave football forever, and essentionally be out of 14 million...

If Seattle was smart...they would sign him up to a long term deal. That club isn't going anywhere w/out him...

They don't have much choice now since they agreed not to franchise him again or trade him. They either give him a new deal or watch him walk next year.
