PS3 vs. 360

Okay, so I'll be done with freshman year in a week and picking up a summer job. With a summer job comes money. And what better way to blow a large chunk of that money than on something that will take hours of productive time away from next year at college?

So the E3 uber-convention is coming up, and there's a lot of hype about the PS3. It's gonna be coming out in November, apparently. Now I've been a Playstation guy for several years now, definitely prefer it over the XBox. But I'm really starting to wonder which of the next-gen systems to buy... the problem is, I can't find anyplace that actually lays out, side-by-side, a comparison of all the advantages/disadvantages each system has versus the other? I don't mean just tech specs, I mean the differences between online communities, best exclusive games coming out, downloading capabilities, and so on and so forth. Does anyone know where I can find that?

I don't know if you will ever find an unbiased opinion on this issue. I have always had the playstations and have rarely played the X-box, but what I have played on it I have liked. People are too opinionated on this matter to get a straight review. There has to be some site out there though that will give a good comparison, wish I could help you out on finding it.

I don't care what anyone says, I'm getting a PS3 as soon as possible. The longer the release date, the more bugs that are fixed. Sony has released the two most popular consoles ever, PS and PS2, both are HUGE successes and I fully expect PS3 to continue the tradition.

PS3 is going to be excellent, thats all there is to it.

I'll get a PS3, mainly for the new GTA game that will most likely be released on that system months before any other.

Joe, you could try gamespy.com or ign.com and just do some research. Do a write-up of both, listing the spec's, pro's/con's/advantages/disadvantages, etc. and see which one you like.

All I know is, Assassin's Creed is forcing me to get PS3. That game looks unbelievabley cool.

Does 360 charge $$$ to play online? Will PS3?

I'll probably get a PS3 but not right when it comes out, probably mid '07.

One issue with the PS3 that needs to be incorporated is a dual laser.

Gran Turismo HD for the ps3 will feature a wifi connection with the PSP, and the PSP will basically function as the rear view mirror..completely useless, and incredibly expensive, but HOW COOL IS THAT??

Brand loyalty. PS1 and PS2 were both righteously awesome consoles, and I fully expect that PS3 will continue the tradition. I don't really care about online gaming, if I wanted to online game, I'll just use my PC.

If the game is released October 17, but the PS3 isn't out until November, how is out at the same time for both?????

I see no point in waiting on the PS3. Especially not considering it's price point. Sony may be shooting themselves in foot with the price.

i tried out a ps3 at a gamestop yesterday. the graphics are sick. they are def better than the 360. i have to get one now. itll be my christmas gift to me, ill just have to eat pb n j for a long time because its going to cost an arm and a leg.

Graphics depends on the game, games like NCAA look mediocre for 360, but Gears of War looks absolutely amazing. Graphically they are about the same power wise, its all about how well developers take advantage of the power.

if there are any around for christmas. How long was it before 360's were readily available after the shortage?

the weird part was that the guy at the store said i should come by during black friday and might have some luck. i was startled. i said, 'really?' he said, yup. i dont know if it is true, but that would be pretty sweet, although talk about a nightmare trying to find a parking spot
