So will Jimmie Johnson dominate the points standings the way he did in 2007?

Even a non-Nascar fan like myself can appreciate Tiger Woods-esque dominance.

Keino~ The Chase (the final 10-race playoffs) was pretty competitive this year; as Jimmie had a lot of competition from Jeff Gordon, who in his own respect had just as much of a tiger-esque full-season as Jimmie did.

Unfortunately, most of us (Mike, Rich, myself...etc) all hate Jimmie and Jeff (think Cowboys), so this year's chase wasn't very exciting for us as it was when Tony Stewart (Home Depot), Kurt Busch (Miller Lite) or Matt Kenseth (Dewalt Tools) won their championships.


As I mentioned in my last post of the 2007 thread...

This is one BAD A$$ paint scheme for next year. LOVE IT!

That's the color box I always buy too.


As I understand it, Jeff and Jimmie are teammates. Do you guys hate them because of that? Why do you hate those guys and like jerks like Tony Stewart. Is it because Stewart drives for JGR?

They are teamates for the Dallas Cowboys team of NASCAR, IMO, Hendrick Motor Sports. That is one reason. Another is because guys like Jeff are no less of a jerk than Tony Stewart. Jeff just puts on the good-guy image where Tony is as you see him. Stewart speaks his mind and gets a bad wrap for it...but in truth, he says what most NASCAR drivers already believe, but are too scared to say it. Jimmie Johnson (one of tony's best friends) has admitted that on many occasions.

I got into NASCAR about 5 seasons ago, and I was instantly drawn to Tony because 1) the guy can flat out drive any racecar, 2) because I spend way too much $ at Home Depot every weekend so I feel as if I'm part owner and 3) because of Gibbs.

Sounds like the classic Marvin Harrison (Good Guy image) Terrell Owens (Speaks his mind but a jerk) comparison.

Stewart strikes me as an ass. I admit that I don't pay enough attention to know better.
