I just figured to create an all around thread for preseason week one games.
After last night, there cannot be a team more boring than the Ravens. They looked flat, and SLOW.
Tim Tebow looked decent. Against car salesmen.
Dallas may of found their backup QB in McGee. Over the past couple of years, he's looked pretty good when he's been called in.
On another note, the change in the KO from the 30 to the 35 is stupid. I am for player safety, but when you eliminate a part of the damn game, that's going way too far. There will be so many touchbacks this season, it won't be funny.
Phillip Rivers looked pretty good as well. Tavaris Jackson, well I guess he's better than Whitehurst (not a compliment).
I hate the review of every score...as if the game doesn't have enough breaks and interruptions.
I like it. Teams don't have to burn one of two challenges on such a pivotal event. The rule change to hate is the new kickoff placement. The pattern will go like this: Score--->Commercial break----->Kickoff/Touchback-------> Commercial break. Good time to go to the can I guess......
I have no problems with a pause in action to ensure the correct call was made.
You guys see the hit Suh put on Dalton last night? If not, here it is. Suh needs to be careful that he doesn't get a reputation as a cheat shop artist.

If anyone should have gotten a flag it should have been Dalton for grounding. He chucked the ball away at the last second to avoid getting hit--I don't feel sorry for him at all.

Dalton was supposed to just take the loss of yardage so he can look tough? It's a shame Suh doesn't have to play agaist Shanny's old Bronco offensive lines. If he slam the QB down by the head when ball is gone someone should have a go at his knees.

You've got to be kidding. He is clearly throwing the ball to #34 in the flat. Even if he was just throwing it away to avoid the hit, it was a one-hopper to a receiver, which makes it by definition, not grounding.

I love Suh and since Sean Taylor there is o other player I can remember wanting the Skins to draft ever... Suh and Fat Al would have made for a fun 4-3...
This was bad but its not the end of the world. He was caught up in the moment...

The more games we play, the more impressive Gibbs' second stint seems. How the hell did we ever make the playoffs?
Panthers/Giants game:
-Clausen looked markedly better than last year. Perfect throw to open the game, bad int for a td 3 plays later but he came right back and directed a td drive.
-Greg Olsen is going to have a huge year.
-Cam was up and down but overall looked decent. His arm is almost too strong, his accuracy is still poor but he wasn't rattled and looked comfortable in the pocket.
-Derek Anderson looked really good, granted it was against 3rd stringers.
-Carolina's D played pretty well even without several starters in there.
-Giants offense was poor. Most notably their o-line looked shaky. Beatty at LT was beaten several times early and he wasn't even facing Charles Johnson who sat out.
-As a result, Eli was off target and was frustrated.
-The Giants d-line played well, particularly Pierre-Paul; he's quick and was really disruptive.
-the secondary looked decent (granted Steve Smith wasn't out there) but the middle of the field and underneath was wide open. When the Panthers o-line did their job, there was always someone open.
-Tynes missed two fg's and then got injured when another was blocked.
-Coughlin was pissed, so that was fun.
