Look, I'm the first to stand up and say the offense is competing for worst offense in NFL history. Its beyond description. But that doesn't excuse the D. They make idiotic plays like the 3rd and 28, the end around, the Fletcher face mask call, Hall against Delhomme, that clearly show that they are not a great defense.


The defense has loads of talent, but they lose their minds 3-4 times a game, at least. The only reason people give them a pass is because the offense is so terrible. I choose to see all our faults, not just the most glaring.

I completely agree. It was not my comparison.. But if we scored more than 16 points a game there wouldn't even be a discussion.. At least 10 points was given by our offense... 13 really..

We are talking about the defense. The defense that let Philly get huge plays which scored enough points TO WIN THE GAME. The defense that had a huge 0 in the turnover category.

Interesting... The Pittsburg offense had 13 points and the Pittsburg D had 14. Interesting.

Either way, it's completely counter-intuitive. If the defense did enough to win, we would have won. Ergo, we lost so the defense did enough to (insert statement like not lose by 30 points or keep it within 3 scores).

Its not counter-intuitive. The Redskins (like the Steelers) are a team. There are defensive players and offensive players. They win and lose as a team, not as individual units.


The D didn't do enough. The O didn't do enough. The ST didn't do enough. The coaching staff didn't do enough. EVERYONE IS TO BLAME.

Ok one direct score... One was ST.. and one the fumble by Campbell... Ok the defense did not do enough to WIN the game... In your view of the words... It should not have to fall on them to score our points.... They did enough for any competent offense to win a football game... I agree the whole team makes mistakes.. But the defense is not why we don't win..

Our defense makes some really, really bone-headed mistakes at times. The 3rd and a country mile where we're in a prevent and still get scored on was mind-boggling. Overall though I'm not really that unhappy with them. Yes they have guys who should've been gone yesterday (I'm looking at you Carlos and you too DeAngelo.) but they've played well enough that if we had just a middle of the road offense we'd be 3-4 or possibly 4-3 (I know 4-3 was never likely, but hey I'm trying to think positive here).

The defense is going to have some craptastic games, but overall I really just can't get too mad at them when I see what our offense is doing, or better yet, not doing.
