Hot dog, he earned 6 stars in his first outing, so his scoring has got to be pretty high already I'd think.

something screwy happened with my cup match this week. i have never lined my team up in a 4-3-3, especially with my 5th defender playing at forward, but somehow that's the lineup my team rolled out and i lost 2-1. really wish i knew what happened.

That's really bizarre. You could ask around, but it obviously wouldn't change the result. That sucks dude.

My team has reached a top 100 ranking in the US. Not too shabby since I gave away some points trying to extend my cup run.
I'm finally in a spot where I should start making some money, so I can upgrade my team this offseason. I'm trying to turn Dunn into a full-fledged club monster, but training mag IMs to WC and selling to make a profit in the mean time. Staying up in III with this set up seems doable for now (having a bot helps), while I get the war chest together.

Great job, KY! Top 100 is huge...
My season has turned out much better than I expected. I currently sit in 4th after sweeping another mid-table team. By doing that...I'll either sit in 4th from here on out or at worst case...finish 5th and play a fairly easy qualification game to stay in the division.
Question: My best trainee will hit playmaking WC a week or two before his 22nd birthday. Is this an opportunity to sell and upgrade other areas...or hold onto him and build the team around him? His salary is staring to get high. (almost 25% of total team salary)
My current PM trainees are:
21 - Magnificent PM (unpredictable)
21 - Brilliant PM; Passable Passing/Scoring
19 - Outstanding PM; Passable Passing (Technical)
19 - Outstanding PM; Passable Passing (Technical)
19 - Outstanding PM (Technical)
18 - Excellent PM; Solid Passing (Quick) Plays TDF in big games
22 - Formidable PM Plays wing if everyone is healthy

sell him as soon as he pops, buy a 17 year old solidish and then use the rest of your money to upgrade. might look for a good keeper as he'll affect all 3 defense ratings as opposed to the one sector boost you'd get from a forward or defender.

youth training question. got a kid that's 15.83, inadequate overall skill with caps of solid defending, inad winger, and inad PM that i know of. his only currently known skill is weak defending. obviously my primary goal is to get him to that solid defending cap. i'll throw him in PM during a friendly to try and figure out what his skill there is and then PM will be my second primary focus once i max out on defending. that leaves me with passing, PM and winger as my 3 potential secondary training regimes. which do you go with? i lean toward winger first to focus on him, but passing and PM would let me hit a lot more players. so, do i go with the one I know, or hit the others to scope him out and potentiall land a bigger return?

This is what I do..
I have 2 studs. I train them the best that I can and then do whatever helps out my other players the most. I focus around defending and goalkeepers. I have 2 16yos that are really good. One is a solid keeper with inad defense. The other is going to be an excellent 17.0 defender with some side skills I hope! I have other good players that need defense training too so it works out.
For you it sounds like PM would help out more of your guys. I would do that. You never know when one of those guys will turn out a lot better than you first thought. I like to put my youngest guys in a training spot until i know they have no more potential or just suck at defense..
Good luck though. Get that defense up to solid before trying too much else.

My youth team has its high ups and downs. A few months ago, I didn't have a single youth training towards a solid skill. Now...I'm juggling 6 guys who have at least (1) skill that caps at Solid. (and several of them have another solid or passable skill) Of course, those skills are all different from one another.
SkinsAsChamps...do you have your 3 scouts all looking for the same position? Or do you have all three looking at three different positions? I have the spread across the board and my guess is that is what is making it so hard for me right now...

I would hit passing first before winger. Wing adds more rating, but I think passing adds more sale value. and passing lets you train more players. As he gets closer to 17, I'd narrow in on the on pm/passing until he caps in those and then wing/sp(?) or something for the rest of the team after he leaves.

I look for "any type of player" but i make sure to pull saturday nights at 830 as much as i can. that is when the best players are available. My youth squad is highly profitable because of my lack of life.

Really? Is that for the U.S. only? And is it the first possible moment when you can pull a guy?

It's an hour after the economic updates when you can make the first pulls. New prospects are added to the pools at that point, so you stand a better chance of getting a better one.
I've also moved my scouts to three of the least populated US regions so there's fewer teams (hopefully) pulling from the same pools. I wish YA/YS players had the region they're from in their bio, or at least some way to track which pulls their coming from (YA) or what team pulled them (YS).

That is the first possible moment in the US. Economic updates are at 730pm. Then once you wait the hour for everything you can pull at 830. I have found very good players if i do that. I find that if i wait until later either my scouts will not find anyone or they will suck..
