Should be suspended. But nothing will come of it.

Wooo. Urban came down hard on Spikes. Suspended for the 1st half against Vanderbilt. Harsh.

The SEC should step in and give additional penalties. But it won't happen

I love watching the SEC but it's not like the conference had that much off the field credibility to begin with.

Sports radio guy Paul Finebaum spent a lot of time on this today. Suggested that the Crimson Tide incorporate eye-gouging into their game plan since we know the weak SEC punishment for it. Finebaum underwent major eye surgery last year, so this hit close to home for him. Furious.

It's unbelievable to me that he's only suspended for the 1st half next week....this guy is a piece of crap.

Any of us that played football did something violent in a pile at some point. I know I made good use of my cleats on someone's backside on more than one occasion.

This, however, crosses the line for me. My dad is 100 percent blind (Doctor's incompetence 8 years ago.) so seeing Spikes do this hits home. He deserved to be suspended for at least 2 games, if not more. Meyer looks like a clown for that joke of a suspension and he should continue to be tarred and feathered by the national media for this.

ESPN is reporting that Spikes has decided to sit out the entire game. This is supposed to be his own doing. If so, great. Too bad your coach couldn't have done himself. And it's great that Spikes realized it was the right thing to do.

However. I believe if they were playing Alabama or LSU Spikes wouldn't miss a minute of the game. Well, maybe the first play of the game.
