Dragon Age (Ultimate nerd thread)
Dragon Age: Origins. Ultimate nerd game. By all accounts, the game appears to be a blatant Lord of the Rings ripoff. Elves, dwarves, orcs, all the things you'd expect. Only extremely violent. And, since it's made by the folks who made Mass Effect, you can expect some mildly creepy, disturbing sex scenes as well.
Game looks awesome. I can't help it, I'm a sucker for this type of game. Comes out Tuesday. One review has already called it the "RPG of the decade."
If you don't know, educate yourself.
Click here for a rather violent trailer

The only downside to the game seems to be that there is no open exploration (such as in Oblivion) other than seems to be a well crafted RPG.

I was surprised by that as well, even though I'm not sure why I was surprised. Bioware games typically use a travel system much like the one in Dragon Age.
Great game.

My only real issue has been finding health potions (poultrices in the game I think they are called) or even locating the recipe......Usually the corpses provide a few a loot but apparently once you have purchased all of them froma merchant that merchant does not re-stock them....Kind of frustrating when you are low-level scrub....

This isn't really a SPOILER but I'm throwing out this warning anyway. Read on if you would like to know a good place to go to help with this situation. . .
If you haven't attempted the Circle of Mages part of the main storyline, head there. It's called Lake something, I forget. That's where you'll get your first real healer in your party, and it makes all the difference in the world. Sure wish I had figured that out sooner, myself.
You can also teach Morrigan the healing spell, as well, but you'd have to adjust her tactics a bit for her to really help you out w/ it.

Thanks I will do just that. I am still trying to figure what the best settings for the tactical side are....
