Actually, I didn't say Haynesworth is a locker room cancer. But, I think the chances of his becoming one this season are better than 50-50. Hope I am wrong about that--only time can tell.

Haynesworth isnt a team cancer, its not like Cooley said all the skins players are calling him everyday to try and get him to take part in their off season programs. Is not like Haynesworth is the only skins player who said he isnt doing anything not mandatory per his contract. I mean, Rocky is still sitting out in hopes of getting a contract/traded and just b/c Haynesworth has chosen the same path as a player who doesnt want to play for the skins anymore doesnt not mean Haynesworth's dedication to this team is similar to Rocky's.

Geez guys. relax.

Haynesworth will show up to mandatories with some kind of strain or soreness (b/c he was training so damn hard) limiting him from any real physically exerting activities but come season opener he will be in there for atleast the first 4 snaps of the game. Of course we can easily explain his lack of conditioning away by the fact that Hayensworth was injured and limited in camp so he is not in game shape. By seasons end, Haynesworth will have played 12 games. 6 of them he will be a factor, 4 of them he will play but not be noticeable and the other 2 he will play a half or quarter here or there.

By seasons end, Haynesworth will have no problem repeating this process for two more years as he plays out the non-voidable years of his contract and stay as a non-team cancer even though he will only be making 5-6 mil per year for the next 3 years. He will gladly accept the remaining low ball poriton of his contract b/c he is a man of honor who will not look to get one last major contract as he plays out the remainder of his prime years here in DC for 5-6 mil a year. Haynesworth is not a mercenary who will leave this team for another for a chance to make more money than the remainder of his skins contract gives him. Haynesworth is fiercly loyal to this team, past coaching staff and current. He just doesnt like hanging around with the team when he is not mandatorily obligated to.

Teammates calling me to come work out and get to know them better? screw that, im albert haynesworth.

Well said. I hope you are wrong, but I fear you will be right.

Based on what you've said, its pretty clear you've convinced yourself that he is.

I don't think Haynesworth is a cancer yet. Events the next few months will show if he becomes one.

I am just saying that if I were betting on this, I would bet that he will not be with the Redskins for the entire season. Either he will be traded for reasonable compensation, or he will force his way off the team by his words/action.

You appear to have already decided that he is one based on your comments in another thread.

If you were right with your latest "theory," Haynesworth would have been dealt already.

All our personal definitions of a "team cancer" aside, do you think Haynesworth is going to play out the next 3 years of his contract with the skins?

While I share hamburger's unease, I think his window of opportunity to get a new contract has closed and he must now wait until next offseason.

I think Haynesworth didnt create enough of an offseason distraction to force the skins hand in accepting less than equal value for him in a trade this offseason. He tried but it was hard for him and his agent to really justify taking any position stronger than "im only doing mandatories" or "the direction the skins D is going doesnt not suit my abilities".

Next offseason, Im guessing we will see a fully committed Haynesworth. Fully committed to forcing the skins hand and not blowing another offseason opportunity to get a new contract. Im thinking maybe having an "injury" conflict with the skins training staff and doctors during this season then in the offseason some strategically planned media leaks regarding haynesworth displeasure and non-trust of the skins doctors. Those dang doctors say he can play but he knows his body better than they do and they are exposing him to injury.

Not cool skins training staff, Im outta here. Agent, get me paid bitch!

For what its worth, I like Haynesworth, when he wants to be is a true bonafide force. He certainly was the deciding factor is several 4th and goal plays last year. But he is what the titans said he is. A beast for 8 games, a lamb for 2-4, and guaranateed to miss 4+ games a year. He is motivated by money, I dont buy into the argument that his stellar years also coincided with his contract years but I cant dismiss it whole-heartedly either.

Albert Haynesworth is a mercenary. He already got 32 mil of his guaranteed 40+ million here. Mercenaries dont play for pride or loyalty.
