Shawn Merriman to be released

What is everyone thinking here?

Is Merriman worth picking up or is he in the mold of another bad free-agent whose production has diminished because of injury and lack of steroids?

I personally say GO FOR IT! The slightest chance he returns to his 17 sack form would help the Skins D tremendously.
