Poor Basel. Bayern laying down the thumping now...
It was a great run for them.

So, Messi is Barcellona's all-time leading scorer.
Pretty surprising stat, for two reasons...
1) The obvious one, he's frickin' 24 years old and has scored 234 goals!!! WTF?!
2) Surprisingly low goal total for Barca's previous record holder (233). For example, Juve, Roma and Inter have DP, Totti and Meazza at around 270-280.
Also, Messi has scored 154 goals in his last 153 games. I'm not even sure that is achievable in Championship Manager.

Tottenham, Liverpool near deal to play July 28 game in Baltimore
Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and Liverpool F.C. are nearing a deal to play a friendly at Baltimore’s M&T Bank Stadium on July 28, according to several sources.
The game between the two English Premier League teams would be played in the afternoon due to a Baltimore Orioles-Oakland Athletics game scheduled for 7:05 p.m. that night at neighboring Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The soccer game is expected to be announced within the next week.

Arturo Vidal cost less than Jordan Henderson, Gareth Barry, and roughly twice less than James Milner. It's been a while since I've seen a midfield display of that quality out of someone not named Xavi Hernandez. Heck of a player, but then again I've been saying that since the summer.

Vidal had a great game, but its the rest of the MVP midfield which gives him the freedom to move up and down the midfield which allows him to play well. His pass to Del Piero was perfect.

Looks like Chelsea and AC Milan will also play on July 28th...at FedEx Field.
How stupid for them to play the same proposed day as Spurs/Liverpool only 30 some miles away?

Liverpool vs. Roma in US Tour friendly at Fenway Park. Wednesday, July 25th. The timing sucks for me so I'm crossing my fingers that they announce a few more dates on weekends....

Question for the washingtonians: Tomorrow I may have the time to go to rfk to watch the dc game, should I stay or should I go?
If I go, should I take my car or metro?
thanks

It will be a lower quality of Soccer than you are probably used to but it is a good time and a chance to tour the stadium where all the Redskins magic happened.
I don't know where you are but the metro would probably be the most convenient way to travel, if it is convenient.

Woo hoo! I just bought my first liverpool tickets! They confirmed the 7/28 Spurs/Liverpool game in Baltimore this morning and are doing a pre-sale on ticketmaster right now. I'm sitting 9th row directly behind Pepe Reina's goal...in the Liverpool Kop supporters section.
Brandon - I just sent you a FB message about this also. They have a spurs supporter section behind the other goal. Check it out.
Flave - road trip?
