The kid needs to focus on making a big impression on ST .... best chance to make this team or PS.

nice write up thanks for your time to do this, i really like and agree with all you say about cousins, i was very much hoping we could draft wilson somewhere in the draft and maybe we would have if he had fell to the 4th round ,anyways very happy that we got cousin, yeah i can hear all those talking heads saying what a great pick it was a few years down the road ,after mel kiper being so high on jimmy claussen a few years ago maybe its a good thing he had so many negative things to say about our draft pick.

Also, pardon homers comments, I hammered that out fast w/out edits.

Initially, I reacted very negatively to the Cousins pick. But, upon reconsideration, I am warming up to that selection.

Apparently, Shanahan had a good look at him as the opposition QB in the Senior Bowl and thought he was the 3rd best QB in this year's crop. If Cousins is as good as MS thinks he is, the worst he can be is inexpensive insurance behind RG. Who knows, if Cousins gets an opportunity to "flash" and does so, he may bring us something worthwhile in a trade down the road like Kevin Kolb did.

Agree Cooley wouldn't fetch much, but if he has a good year, a 4th might be possible. In the end, something is better than nothing. Moss I think will be cut next few years, Cooley might retire. He just seems to be one of those guys, you know?

But again, I hardly pretend I have all the answers. Lively discussion good.

I am more interested in Morris' ability to pass-protect. If he is good at that and if he can catch passes out of the backfield, perhaps he can be a 3rd down back.

Assuming Davis doesn't get into substance-abuse problem again, Cooley's stay in Wash may depend upon the transition of Nils Paul to TE. If that transition is smoth, Cooley may be too expensive (cap wise) to keep.

Moss's stay may hinge upon how quickly Henkerson develops. While I still prefer Santana, the coaching staff seems to want to go with the younger and bigger Henkerson.
