I'm confused, why would he care?

I think it's cool that Shanahan is putting Manning up in his own house.

its just temporary according to the reports ive read. manning is renting it. the house was still being built when shanny was fired from the broncos. and i dont think goodell cares about a poker room in a coaches house especially when the coach can go to any casino and gamble, ashburn aint too far from charlestown. if shanny were betting on football games then there would be a problem...

In a similar vein, Rex Grossman lives in Kyle's.

That would be like Roger Goodell fining a defensive player for going after the QB's head in Madden.

Not sure what the point is of this article. Shanahan has been successful at the biggest Professional sport in America. What do you think of ANY talented athlete, rock star, race car driver, CEO, actor, etc., etc. in a capitalistic system? The rarity of their genetic talent, extreme drive, determination, persistence, luck, allows them to make unbelievable amounts of money at a young age.

Then there's the perceived notion about an NFL HC or players who must "hate" their opponents. Pure myth. Just watch the players and coaches meeting their counter player after a game? Do they fight - no! These 1500+ NFL players play an extremely tough sport, where you are one hit or fall away from oblivion. The players have much more in common with each other than the public

His own home in Indy cost like $7M, less than the NFL player would spend like $20M for Tom Brady and his wife in California.
