I read a headline today (didn't read the story) that the DA is saying he cannot prosecute Fine. You heard anything like that?

It's a statute of limitations deal, I believe.

He announced that yesterday. Statue of limitations on the charges. Fine's not out of the woods, he was accused of crossing state lines and molesting a kid in PA, so the Feds probably will charge him.

Also one of the accusers filed a civil suit today.. The father has called this third accuser a liar and the third accuser (not the subject of the original allegations) is about to go to jail for molesting another kid as well.
Anyone who read the transcript of that phone call between Bobby Davis and Laurie Fine knows what happened. Bernie is guilty IMO even if the statute ran out. I still can't believe the paper did not disclose the tape in 2003 when they had possession of it.

I didn't realize these sorts of cases had a statute of limitations. I remember when the Catholic church was really getting nailed and many of those allegations spanned 30 years or more.

I think he survives, unless something comes out that he knew.

Depends on the jurisdiction. The Catholic church avoided a lot of criminal charges thanks to it, but they've been hammered by civil lawsuits.

I haven't seen anything that indicates Boeheim had a clue or covered anything up. You can't hold him accountable for everything his staff does.

The only thing that could have given him knowledge is that Fine's been accused/investigated in the past. But thats not enough imo. JoePa had direct knowledge(and multiple reports of it) for years.

Sandusky guilty of 45 of 48 charges. Not surprising given the witness testimony.
I wonder what will happen with his adopted son's accusations now. I assume it isn't worth trying him on it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Paterno effectively killed himself by stopping treatment to avoid ever facing this.

Based on the denialism coming from the Paterno family since the release of the report, I'm guessing decency is a long time coming from them.
At least they aren't Matt Millen tho
