Default Skins sign CB David Jones, waive Minnifield

Per the team's official twitter account.

Minnifield goes to IR if nobody claims him.

I guess Minnifield is finito as a player if he can't make it to camp.

Minnifield's agent saying he re-injured the knee either in minicamp or OTAs. Doesn't think his client will be claimed.

i knew something wasnt right when talk of him starting camp on the PUP list popped up recently within the last week...and to think, some people actually complained that we got him as an undrafted free agent instead of drafting him where we drafted Morris. Now they should understand why he went undrafted with his injury to begin with. thats worse than those who wanted him to start over Hall...

Minnifield probably out for the year.
Jones is a reserve/ special teamer. This is not looking good.

I certainly hope he is not claimed.

If Minnifield re-injured his knee, then taking a flyer on him still made more sense then drafting another RB, especially when the skins were planning to bring back Hightower(and by all reports, want him to start).

Anyone who relieves Hall of his spot(and cap charge) with the skins would be a step up. Minnifield, Griffin, Barnes, whomever.

I think if we can sneak him through and give him time to heal, he might still contribute. If he gets claimed, its not the end of the world imo, it was worth the relatively low risk to bring him in and give him a shot.

I agree in terms of 2013. If there was any chance he could help us this season he wouldn't have been waived.

Dunno. If they see him as a long term project, they could just wait and IR him for a season. This sounds like they think he's completely done.

Not sure what it means, but the agent told TEB the plan was for him to rehab in Ashburn, assuming he doesn't get claimed.
