I probably follow Maryland more than any other program, so I hope they land the twins. Reading stuff like this, however, makes me wonder how much of a loss it'll be if they end up at UK. From the Sun a week ago:
Quote:
The Harrisons have received a considerable amount of criticism for their on-court personas the past couple years. They’ve been called cocky, immature and petulant. On Monday night, all three of those adjectives would’ve accurately described Andrew and Aaron. Both twins rolled their eyes and shook their heads nearly every time a play didn’t go their way. In fact, they seemed annoyed almost the entire game. They walked slowly to the sidelines for timeouts, and rarely encouraged their teammates.
Andrew was called for a technical foul midway through the second quarter for trash talking Baltimore guard Daxter Miles, and seemed on the verge of a physical confrontation with a couple Elite players near the end of the game. He also yelled expletives several times after missing free throws.

Of interest- Roddy Peters said if Harrison twins commit to Maryland, it would be a positive. Wants to win. Not worried about earning PT.

Are The Harrison Twins Leaning Towards Picking The Maryland Terrapins Over The Kentucky Wildcats?
In ESPN.com’s Dave Telep’s “Elite 24 Saturday Notebook” that was published earlier today, Telep discussed the Harrison twins, Andrew and Aaron. The two have made it obvious that they will be attending the same school and have trimmed their list to Kentucky, Maryland, SMU, and Baylor.
They will be making their official visits to SMU and Maryland, but did not mention that they would be taking official visits to either Kentucky or Baylor. The reason for not taking an official visit to Kentucky was that they have spent so much time around the University of Kentucky, that they know everything they need to know about Kentucky, so need for alarm for Big Blue Nation there. However, the interesting thing for Kentucky fans everywhere is what Telep said regarding the race between Kentucky and Maryland to land the Harrison twins.
My gut in July was that Kentucky was the team to beat. I’m feeling now like Maryland closed the gap and is making its move.
Now, this may be nothing at all, but it could evolve into something if Maryland continues to close the gap. Kentucky was thought to basically have Andrew and Aaron locked up. But it appears the the contest is much closer than everyone is assuming. I feel as if they will still land at Kentucky in the end, but the harder these other schools push for them, the more interesting this recruitment will be.

Really wish they were not waiting until Oct to make thier decision. If Kentucky lands them, then Maryland needs to go to plan B but that might be too late.

From all reports, Maryland has plan B in place.
5-star PG Roddy Peters (Suitland HS,MD) is visiting other schools but is expected by many to commit to Maryland.
Peters is excited about the possibility of playing with the Harrison twins even though he's a PG.

Xavier Transfer Dezmine Wells to Visit Maryland?
Between landing Michigan's Evan Smotrycz and Albany's Logan Aronhalt, Mark Turgeon clearly has no qualms about recruiting transfers. It looks like he'll take that trend a step further, as Maryland appears to be one of the top choices for highly-regarded former Xavier Musketeer Dezmine Wells.
Wells, a former teammate of C.J. Leslie's at Word of God, was a four-star prospect and top-50 player back in 2011, and averaged 26 minutes and 10 points per game in his freshman campaign at Xavier. He was expelled from Xavier last week for an undisclosed criminal matter ... and was shortly thereafter completely exonerated with the judge calling the expulsion "fundamentally unfair" and "an injustice."
This could get interesting.

Yeah I've seen many of the reports and speculations too - still alittle concerning.

Pat it's between us and Kentucky and Cal simply pays better than us (and the rest of the country's coaches). I still feel good that the Harrison twins will be joining Uncle Bino and their AAU teammate Shaq in College Park. We will know in about 45 days and I don't think we are going to be in a similar position that Gary left us in when we had no time to put together a recruiting class.

Exactly my concern but I'll keep the fingers crossed. Haven't been this excited about a college BB season like this for a long time.

Anybody else concerned with the reports of the Harrisons' on-court attitudes?
And is the consensus they're going to both be one-and-done?

Moderately concerned, but the only time I've heard of those issues was in that AAU game they had on Baltimore.
I think one and done really depends on how they do as Freshman. If they show up big, then chances are they go after one year. I could also see them playing for 2 years in college.

Class of 2013 (hopefully): Aaaron and Andrew Harrison 5-stars, Roddy Peters 5-star, Damonte Dodd 4-star and Evan Smotrycz (Michigan transfer)

The one-and-done poses and interesting dilemma for the twins. Once the enter the draft – it will be highly unlike they will be playing together – at least for a while (not saying it couldn’t or wouldn’t happen). I’m sure they are very confident in the ability to make it to the pros … it is a question of how soon they want to stop playing without each other.
Of course in my dream world - they would come to MD for 4 years .....
