I wish that the state had the balls to kill the football program for at least a year.

I can't see any positive in such a move. The program and the university just took a massive hit, probably the most severe punishment in college football history. PA going above and beyond that to self-impose no football for a year would put people out of work and do significant damage to businesses outside the university that depend on the football team.

And it would show the world that the state has zero tolerance for this kind of bull. Right now, PSU is Pedophillia State University.

So the entire community should suffer because of the actions of a few individuals? That's not justice.

I almost said something I would regret.

A system as corrupt as this one deserves to be an example.

Don't you think spending $6 million bucks on the study that turned your elite football program into a I-AA team for four years shows that? Penn State won't be back to the competitive level its fans are used to any earlier than 2018 or 2019. Some people think these sanctions may end up costing the university a half billion in lost revenue.

Toss in the fact the pedophile himself is in jail and those responsible are either dead or fired and I'm can't find a positive in taking an extra step that serves only to put ticket office staff on the unemployment line and take a huge bite out of sports bar sales.

I'd rather see the University continue to earn revenue so that it can pay out the damages it is bound to have to pay as a result of losing numerous civil suits. It won't erase the damage done, or heal the scars, but I'd rather see the victims get some compensation that killing the football program might prevent.

Looks like the insurance carrier that penn state had is gonna fight to play the claims from the lawsuits that are bound to come.

Two trustees plan to sue in federal court to invalidate the NCAA sanctions. Good luck with that.

Is it true that Louis Freeh is being investigated for false reports and cover-ups?

It was at the FBI and already done years ago from what I remember.

The problem with this meme is that what really destroyed PSU and Paterno was primary source documents that were handed over.

I just wondered with him being investigated if it would call into question his Penn State report? I haven't really followed the case closely but I was reading about Freeh and he seems like a pretty shady character.
