regretfully, i think it will be against Ok City
I know you are not old enough to remember them, but the Thunder reminds me some of the Golden State Warriors when they played against the Bullets in the finals.. They were just so young and athletic that for 4 straight games the Bullets were simply run off of the court in the second half of every game..
the Heat are not that old a team, but the Thunder are run by some 23 year olds who are just coming into their own in the NBA.. what they did to the Spurs in the second half of 4 straight games was simply amazing.. they took apart a mature, seasoned group of players who looked for a couple of months like, easily, the best team in the NBA.. i dont think they will choke in the finals.. if they dont, i cant see the Heat staying with them even with LeBrick having a great series.. it should be a fun series to watch..
Ok City in 5 in the finals...

And this is one of the reasons I hate this Heat team. Not because they are talented, but because they waste that talent for 3+ quarters of just about every game and then turn it on at the end. They should be blowing everyone out but refuse to play team basketball, and team defense, for 40 of 48 minutes.
I like overachievers who fail more then underachievers who win by talent alone.
I think if the Heat do win this year it could be a bad thing for their franchise and Lebron, now hear me out. One championship will keep spoelstra, and the big 3 together. I think that is a flawed mixture who will get worse as time goes on and they will struggle to put talent around them. One ring will make Lebron and Wade not try so hard.
Whereas if they lose this year the team will have a mini blow up, probably trading Bosh, and gettign a real HC in there.

I have never cared so little about a major sports title ever. Even though I am a Yankees fan, this is worse than our 2009 title. Lame-o.

Oh I don't know about that, Lebron is Sterns best chance to finally recreate the Jordan era. He'll pay out as many conspiracy credits as he has too to get the job done. Too bad Lebron is flawed just like Kobe was and not all the fans are suckers for being force fed their guy.

nah.. i think we are heading into an era of different nba champions every year.. not to say that Miami wont win a second title with Lebron, but my guess is that Stern thinks it is better to have a fresh set of faces for the photo op every year..
OKC, next year...
then maybe, the Knicks, or Lakers, or Chicago (Rose wont be well enough next year)

A source with direct knowledge of the talks told ESPN.com's Marc Stein the Lakers will receive Howard, the Denver Nuggets will acquire Andre Iguodala, the 76ers will receive Andrew Bynum and Jason Richardson, and the Magic will get Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic and one protected future first-round pick from each of the three teams.
In addition, the Magic will be getting other pieces, including 76ers No. 1 draft pick Moe Harkless, a source told Stein.

Great trade for the 76ers, the Magic GM should be fired and no extension for Dwight Howard. Also, I don't think Bynum to Howard is that big an upgrade.

Thats the double edged sword here for the Lakers. If they don't win the title(and I think that OKC, Miami and the Spurs can still beat them), either Kobe's leaving or Howard's going to Dallas.

Of the four teams that have a chance to win the NBA title, one of them is worth cheering for. What a joke of a league. You're either better off being a contender or completely sucking and hope you get a stud. Being in the middle keeps you there.

For the teams in the middle, I think it's mostly their fault for staying there. I'm not an NBA guy, but part of the issue is that I think most GM's are simply incompetent as far as building teams. Part of that is that I think some of the salary rules and such are stupid, but you can build quality teams. OKC and the Spurs built theirs mainly through the draft. Miami, Boston and LA through trades or FA. But, too much player loyalty will get yourself strapped to mediocrity pretty fast.
I think this trade is an example of this. The Lakers are relentless when they want a guy. They know the value of who they have and they put pressure on to make things happen. Orlando was dumb from the outset of the Dwightmare and handled the whole thing about as badly as they could have. He should have been shipped out a long time ago. For most teams, I don't think the system (although I think it is poorly designed) is the biggest issue.
