A couple of things I haven't seen mentioned yet:
1) in the Redskin's postgame show Chick Hernandez asked Sellers if he had Dawkins' vertebra stashed somewhere so he could give it back to him when they met in Philly. Without missing a beat Sellers came back, "Yeah, I've got that in my back pocket. I'm gonna take that home with me."
2) Joe Gibbs, in his postgame presser, said that he was fortunate to have Sellers on his team because he was the only TE he had ever had who was crazy eough to love the isolation play where he is 1:1 vs. a charging LB. Gibbs said that they ran it three times in a row in pre-season and he looked over at Sellers expecting him to be looking pretty beat-up and instead Sellers smiled at him and made a "crank-it up one more time" motion with his hands. The guy loves contact and smacking people.
3) Regarding last season, Sellers said that he didn't really learn the H-back position until this preseason because it is so complex in Gibbs' offense. Said that he got caught committing penalties because he was out of position and thinking too much about where he needed to be.
I said last season that cutting a guy like Sellers who was committing bonehead penalties and who wasn;t an established core guy was exactly the kind of thing Gibbs has been known to do to send a message. Apparently, Gibbs loves Sellers and he isn't going anywhere. Except maybe over Dawkins again.
