How is Irvin still employed???
Does anybody else wonder how ESPN can continue to employ Irvin? I realize that he is innocent till proven guilty, but he displayed a lengthy criminal pattern prior to ever working for ESPN. It appears he hasn't changed much. Hardly the person I feel should be put in the spotlight. As far as his on air presence, he never appears to be able to control himself. His opinions are rarely objective at all, and he backs his friends regardless of the situation (TO comes to mind).
I know that being a Skins fan I have extra hatred for Irvin, but I know fans of several NFL teams that feel the exact same way, even cowgirl fans. I really do like their countdown show, but I just can’t tolerate Irvin. I know I am not the only one who feels this way, does anybody feel differently?
Also I am going to write ESPN and voice my disdain for him being on the air, given the example he continues to set in society. Here is the link if you wish to do the same.

Criminal or not, he's still the worst analyst EVER. Not only is it impossible for him to form some resemblance of a complete sentence, but he's biased (though everyone at ESPN is biased). He's annoying, he interrupts, and never has anything substantial to add.

Because he's flashy and ESPN believes his presence helps ratings despite his poor analyzation and arguments. They don't mind his criminal background whatsoever evidently which makes me question espn ethics a bit. As anything in American business, it's all about the $.

I hope they dump him in the off-season for Vermiel or someone who has some knowledge.

Vermeil would be nice, but he doesn't have enough of that "flash" that Michael does. I doubt he's ever been arrested. Frankly, Vermeil has little chance of landing a tv spot anywhere imo.

Read the book..... ESPN:The Uncensored History!
This should put things into perspective.
Also, don't we have a member here who works for ESPN?

it is a travesty and i hope he is gone soon. i was opposed to them hiring michael in the first place due to his history.
maybe they can get L.T. or d. strawberry to replace him next year. that should keep the show "edgy" enough.

He should be fired simply for that suit he wore last sat. He looked like a little kid in a suit that was 10 times too big for him.

Maybe ESPN can land Jayson Williams to analyze NBA coverage.

I was thinking maybe Nate Newton could join the set. It would be hilarious to see them all up there chowing pizza and chips while they did the show

I emailed letting them know I would come back to ESPN (by getting cable) when they fire Irvin.

Irvin has some strengths, he has relationships with current players and that is how he can land the interviews he lands. But he can not analyze his way out of the studio let alone a football game. Hello his best excuse for a crack pipe being in his car was "it was one of my friends but I am not going to tell you who". Not the most analytical mind in the world here.
I just love beating Tampa because Irvin was the only guy on countdown to pick against us.

Yeah, I don't see any strengths... His "connections" are probably the same type that landed Jamal Lewis in the slammer.

I'd like to add that it is not a dallass bias either. I'd be ashamed if Irvin had ever worn the white on white for us. I think Aikman is steadily becoming of the best in the biz. I just despise Irvin as a human being... if you want to use that term.
