There are some interesting discussions going on about blu ray players/recorders. Seems as though some companies want to require internet access so they can monitor hacks (changes) to the player. Hacks such as removing the region code from the players. Supposedly the internet connection will allow them to detect the change and the player/recorder could be remotely disabled. Very interesting stuff.
