I always remember Moyes after the last game of the 04/05 season after Everton finished above Liverpool in fourth place, being interviewed on TV with a glass of champagne celebrating a Champions League place - only to crash out in the qualifiers a couple of months later. Muppet...

I always thought Mourinho's reaction after knocking United out of the CL this year was extremely suspicious and I had an inkling at the time that this is Fergie's final season with Mourinhio coming replacing him. Only half of that came true unfortunately. (For me)
So many great managers got their recognition by having overachieving teams but most of them actually won something as part of that. The frustrating thing is there was never even as much as a lining up of candidates. He was hand picked before anyone else was even considered.

I can't read German but I cannot help but assume this publication has the highest levels of accountability and journalistic integrity. These guys pronounced Hitler dead 2 days before the bunker burned down.

Had the same worry before we brought in AVB. Also given the cult of personality around Fergie, I'll be curious to see how many players try and test Moyes to see where his limits are. That may be more important than his tactics.

Hope not. Martin O'Neill at Everton would be a far better third wish...

I don't know if I'm calm because I'm warming up to it or because Fergies retirement hasn't set in yet

No Agger, Gerrard or Suarez and still produce a cracking performance - could (and should) have been 6 or 7 yesterday. Pleased with the progress this season. It's been painful at times but Rodgers has the team moving in the right direction. Coutinho's passing is just sublime.
Great hat-trick from Sturridge too, 11 from 15 games. Guess we're still a one-man team then...
