Will you please stop trolling? Almost every post of yours I read is uninformed and pandering for responses. Jackson and Zimmermann still would have gotten starts, Strasburg was looking gassed when they shut him down, it was the bullpen that blew this one, not one starting pitcher...I'm done rattling off reasons that this has no business being discussed just so you can come in here with little frame of reference and say I told ya so like a 10 year old.
Thanks for the season, Nats. You guys were a joy to root for and played stellar baseball almost wire to wire. Now you've got a taste...come back next year at full strength and ready to eat!

Yeah, I don't know what Drew Storen did to become annointed the unquestioned closer beyond reproach. Mariano Rivera he is not.

A: He'd allowed exactly 1 run in his previous 19 appearances.

You guys gonna even watch it anymore now? I hate the cards with the passion i have the cowboys, yet i hate the yankees the same way. would hate to see either team win it all. since velander is from virginia, like to see him pitch well enough to win the world series mvp i reckon.

One, watch your comments. Two, if you don't root for those teams, I'd suggest not offering uniformed opinions about them. You're wrong here as no one has laid any blame on Johnson but you.

You need to chill out with the A-hole comment. That will earn you an infraction.

Didn't have a chance to get on the board over the weekend but Tina and I went to the game Friday night. Was exciting till the end which was a big let down. Still the Nationals had an amazing season and brough us a lot of excitement. I feel like next season is going to as fun if not more.
Thank You Washington Nationals for restoring a winning attitude back in DC!

Well there's that lol. I watched a helluva lot of games and don't recall him being that dominant. You sure he didn't allow runs that someone else took the blame for?

It's possible he allowed an inherited run, I suppose. I'm not sure.
Storen allowed two ER in Sept/Oct (interestingly both came against St. Louis). He gave up that one ER in his final 16 appearances of the regular season, then pitched scoreless innings in Games 1, 3 and 4 of the NLDS.
What really stinks is that Game 5 was on Friday. Storen had pitched on Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday. Not ideal to have your closer throwing for a third consecutive day.

In any case his WHIP was below 1.00. He was much better than I recalled. I stand corrected.
