Wow, it's really awesome that the BCS figured out a way to get NIU into the Orange Bowl. Way to destroy one of your premium bowl games, morons. Maybe they're just doing it to force themselves to bring in a playoff system, or something. But this is ridiculous. Florida State could be stoned out of their minds, and they'd still kick the crap out of those gomers. Outside of the BCS Championship, the only games worth watching are the Cotton Bowl (not a BCS game, but 10X better than this crap) and the Fiesta Bowl. I just don't understand why they can't figure out a way to get the top 10 BCS teams into the 5 fricking BCS games, or at least kick out unranked teams like Wisconsin and garbage teams like Louisville and NIU. I mean, NIU? I lived in Illinois for 7 years, and no one there gives a flaming crap about that football program. They barely even care about Illinois or Northwestern. I can't imagine what was so attractive about NIU. They weren't even undefeated, and they didn't beat a single team that was worth a damn.

Agreed , college football is such an entertaining game but these bowl games dont mean squat. They have all kinds of time from the end of the regular season until now to have an exciting 8 or ten team tourney.

Highlight of the game for me was seeing former Redskins great Shaun Alexander on the bama sidelines.

Every year I hear the SEC is overrated and that this is the year a team from another conference wins it all, and every year it becomes more and more hilarious. Notre Dame was the NUMBER ONE team in the country and they were made to look like an NAIA team tonight. The SEC is in a completely different stratosphere regardless of Florida and LSU deciding to take an evening off in their bowl games.

I was in Miami, and the game wasn't as close as it seemed on TV. Bama's WRs were open all over the field. Probably could have put 80 on them if they'd wanted to.

Obviously BC gets it but I don't. Is this related to the independent counsel review of NCAA enforcement actions?

I thought so too although I just something read about it in passing and my knowledge is very vague. If a day came where the entire can of worms openned up I have a feeling it'll look a lot uglier than any of us imagined.

Yeah. If the ncaa can't investigate properly, what use do they have? If they preach accountability for leadership to coaches, how can we trust emmert who let his vp pay shapiro? Why is the ncaa needed?

I think these questions will begin to be asked more frequently, especially if we get a deeper look on the inside.
