Default Regarding the draft....

I noticed a poll set up by natgbz regarding the defensive line. So far 66 have casted their vote, and 25 have said find talent in the draft. My question is this: are the rest of you Sean Taylor supporters or what? Who do we take in the draft? Sean Taylor? Kellen Winslow Jr? Kenechi Udeze? Tommie Harris? Vince Wilfork? Will Smith? or a wild card like Mike Williams? When you vote think about trading down, aquiring more picks, and who will upgrade the team the most.

There seems to be quite a lot of bickering back and forth as to whether or not Sean Taylor will be the pick. The general consensus seems to be that Taylor is an impact player, but we are short on draft picks, and that we do not have a solid defensive line, and no good pass rushing DE's (although some here argue that the linebackers will be the fix for that problem). Of course we trust in Gibbs, but there are still obvious concerns.

P.S My first post! I've been reading this site for a couple of weeks now, but more importantly have been a Skins fan all my life. Hail!

70% of people will say "Take Taylor, he is a beast! -- He is the Freak, Vick, Ray Lewis, Air Jordan, and Muhammad Ali wrapped into one!" 20% will say trade down for D-Line help. 10% will say take KWII. If they get a great offer to move down, I say do it, otherwise take KWII and go in to the season with a team that is capable of dominating games with ball possession and by putting points on the board. If that D-Line only has to play 20-25 minutes a game, the defense should be at least decent.

I said pick a DE. We need a good DE, we don't need Sean Taylor folks...hate to break it to you.

SEAN TAYLOR...take this guy in the fifth to help D-Line...

134. Washington Redskins - Ahmaad Childress - DT - Alabama
Simply a beast of a man at 6'7" 345 lbs. The Redskins will be running a hybrid of the Chicago Bears and Tennessee Titans/Buffalo Bills defense. However - to run such a system - you need massive tackles to stop the run and keep blockers off of the backers. That's why it makes sense. There are not many defensive tackles that show 345 especially at 6'7". Childress should team up with a free agent acquisition (read Ted Washington) and it should dictate what the Skins will try to do.

thats a HUGE dlineman. However I did a quick search for him and found five different sizes for him:
6-5 313
6-7 345
6-4 355
6-6 331
6-8 360

Id like to see which one is true

Great pull, WR. Now, I'll have the double agony of praying that this guy is still around where we draft in the 5th, and watching Vinny pick somebody else when he is around in the 5th

It would be great if we got a guy this big to plug up the middle ala Date Butz.

Interesting - ST is now at 53%.
I still believe that those of you voting for him are looking at the player (nothing wrong with that either) and not what is best for the team. AND I'm not saying that he is not a good pick. AT #5, I'd pick him also but don't feel he's going to help the team as much as two solid rookie DL would. So again, my nickel worth would be to trade down and shoot for Starks and Ball (or Babbins).
