Thrash is a good signing for numerous reasons.

1. He is a good special teams player.
2. Fast wide receiver with good hands, unlike Gardner.
3. Knows the Eagles playbook, and will help others understand it too.
4. If Gardner is dealt, maybe a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round pick, which is better than a 5th round pick.

I think Gibbs did it for his special teams play and knowing Philly. Gibbs needs some inside on Donovan McNabb and I think that Thrash will know it. Who else thinks like this?

Thrash can give us some Eagle insight but other then that..this is a bad move.

Why deal with a team in your own division????

Why start giving our draft picks for next year away??

We need our draft picks for next season because we have a ton of free agents on the horizon that are going to have to be let go or cut.

Thrash is garbage. I don't agree with this one. Not at all.

How can you say that? He may have been miscast as the #1 receiver in Filthadelphia, but is still a great player and locker room presence. Just because Gardner was a first round pick doesn't mean he's any better. I can't stand Gardner making one catch all game, with the skins losing by two touchdowns, and standing up and making his stupid first down showboating. Thrash will be a great addition. Russel will not make the team, and Gardner needs to be traded for whatever they can get, even if its a 7th rounder.

This is a great move for the skins. Another former skins player comes home where he belongs. Look at it like this. How many time did Thrash burn the skins when he was with the beagles. This adds great depth to the WR corp and special teams.

Not to get off the subject but who do the skins draft at #5

What I don't like about Trash is his cap number this year. About $1.6, I think.

But then we would have lost a 5th rounder.

And then the thing that I would not have liked about Thrash would be that we lost a 5th rounder for somebody who didn't show much.

I despise this move. WHy give up something for a player that: A. Was going to get cut anyways and B. Had such little value that a bidding war would've been next to impossible.

This is not the same as the Brunell situation b/c there were multiple teams interested in him. Philly deserves props for getting anything for him. We look real dumb on this trade, but at least we have a 2nd overpriced SPecial Teamer with some insight on one of our divisional rivals

Thrash for a 5th is not bad.. BUT.. Thrash for Gardner is BAD.. first of all in Philly.. weren't the receivers (Thrash and Pinkston) known as guys who couldn't separate themselves from the DBs on the line of scrimmage?? This has been their motto for the last 3 years ever since he went to the Green Beaks! Smoot and Bailey had a field day on him.. he's not as physical as some of u think.. if he was then ppl around the league wouldn't have been calling the Eagles receivers SOFT. He does have better hands then Gardner but Rod is much more physical and can separate.. he just needs coaching from Gibbs to better his hands and his blocking.. but c'mon.. Gardner struggled last year but still had 10 more catches than Thrash and in just his 2nd season had 71 grabs for 1006 yards! the most Thrash ever had was 63 for 833! and its not like we're getting him just for special teams since we have Morton as well. Thrash as a 4th reciever/2nd return man is good.. but not a trade off for Gardner who have much better potential.

I think this more of a special teams move. PLus thrash is a decent blocker which is a must for all of Gibbs recievers to do .We just traded Johnson to the bears. So I am thinking special teams. Darryl Green really liked his work ethic and really praised his steady developement when he played for us. He might be replacing Cliff Russell. Who has not done to much since we drafted him a few years ago. I like the move another upgrade, to what was on last years roster.

Keino,

You need to look back at what Thrash did for the skins the first time he was a skin, This man can make some big plays. I like this move and I think a lot of skins fans will as well. So what you give up a 5th round pick in 2005 for a WR that will add depth to your team now.

i see (hope) the possible trade of rod gardner as opening a door for mccants, not thrash.
