Did you hear what JAWS said on ESPN Radio
Ron "Jaws" Jaworski was just interviewed on ESPN Radio. They talked about what the Redskins are going to do at the #5 pick in the draft.
Well, Jaws who said that he knows Gibbs well (from playing against him for years) and studying film, he believes that the Redskins will pick:
Kellen Winslow, TE Miami
He mentioned how important the H-Back is to Gibbs and that Winslow is a great fit for Gibbs. He went on to say that with our O-Line, "great" Receivers and Portis, that Brunell (and Ramsey) would have a field day, particularly if Winslow is selected, which he believes will happen. He also hinted that Winslow is a BEAST.
He didn't rule out selecting anyone else (i.e. Taylor, Udeze, etc.), but really has a "gut feeling" that this is the direction that the 'Skins are going. Thoughts...........

my order is this
1.)wilfork/tommie harris
2.)udeze/will smith
3.)winslow
4.)taylor
i'd be mad if we drafted taylor. i think he would be great, but we have many needs. i want winslow, but i think we have too many needs on the dline and no draft picks to fulfill them. but our offense would be scary good if we had winslow.

Well that all chnaged when the Postons became his agent imo. If I was the Skins I woudl stay away from the headache of the holdout that will surely come.

Agreed. A holdout is a 100% certainty if we draft a Poston-represented player that high. It's a shame.

Yeah, TexSkin, when I was listening to Jaws talking, I was thinking to myself that it sounds reasonable that the Skins would go after Winslow, however the Postons signing with him would be a major road block. I don't know if Jaws even considered the agents when talking about who we would select. I still would prefer Taylor (yep, I'm still on the Taylor bandwagon), however, if New England will make a BLOCK-BLUSTER trade with us (which has been rumored), then I would trade down and Grab Udeze AND Wilfolk or Harris.

Yadda Yadda. Nothing really new here. Drafting Winslow means that we'll just become the Chiefs and hope that nobody can outscore us. Not the best place to be.

If we trade down to far we wont get a top D-lineman.

13-3 vs. 5-11. Which would you take?

I still dont think you can believe any info that is being put out there right now. Too close to the draft. Winslow wouldnt surprise me, but I think he might be taken by Arizona.
My top three possibilities:
1-Taylor
2-Harris/Wilfolk
3-Trade down and take a dlinemen

I would certainly take 13-3 but, (unless you've changed your stance) I think you would agree that we need help on defense. Even if we field the best offense in football, the chances are, we won't get to where we want to be without defense. It has bitten the Chiefs/Colts/Rams etc. You don't need the best offense to win games provided you have a good defense. I think we already have a good offense will all major components intact. Our defense however does not. I do not want to be like the Chiefs in that regard.

A holdout is a possiblity regardless of who the agent is. If Gibbs thinks Winslow is a potential pro bowler and can drastically improve this team I don't think they'll pass on him. Especially if they view him as the best player. And judging from what I've seen and heard about Winslow, he's not the type to sit in the dark and let his agents handle everything. Him and his dad will have a pretty large say in the contract negoitiatons. The Postons have typically held their clients in the dark regarding negotiations I don't think that'll be an issue because Winslow will have his nose in everything.

i think you gotta look to the playmaker. by that i mean there's a good chance that winslow will improve the offense significantly. this is not to say that drafting DL or taylor wouldn't improve the defense, but would it be anything more than marginable? that's arguable. but i've jumped/joined every draftee bandwagon there is numerous times, so don't listen to me.

Don't be fooled by the whole anti-Poston thing. If they want KWll then the Skins will take him regardless of the Postons. The good thing about drafting a TE at #5 is that he would instantly be the highest paid TE in the league anyway, just on draft position.

KWII is a playmaker, but the Skins have Portis and Coles to be the playmakers on offense. The Skins could use a playmaker on Defense, and Taylor or Wilfolk could be that
