OK, time to start getting scared....
The chargers have confirmed they are in talks with the Giants to give them the #1 overall pick. If the Giants get the #1 pick, they're getting eli manning, which means the skins will be up against an awful lot of EXTREME competition for the forseeable future. The eagles and cowboys are scary with their coaches and offseason aquisitions, but they dont have excellent franchise QB's who will be around forever. If the Giants get Manning, they will be the likely candidate to win the division title pretty much every year for the next 10 years. uh-oh...

Don't be scared
i hear what you're saying but his name isn't Peyton Manning. No offense to the guy but everyone has crowned him and he hasn't taken an NFL snap yet.

That of course assumes that Eli Manning won't be a bust, which is something we'll just have to wait and see. Just because his last name is Manning doesn't make him great. I've seen him play, and he was good in college, but we'll just have to wait and see how he pans out, won't we?

What goes around, comes around ...... that's the NFL! ...... Remember, we had our chance with a "TOP" QB one year and look how that ended up. No matter who you choose - it's still all a crap shoot!

I'm not worried.
By the time Eli matures, Gibbs will have his fourth ring and might be looking to turn over the HC role to someone else..

QBs
that leads me to a question: Compare Danny Wuerffel's size to Ramsey, they are very similiar. But you watch each in the pocket and Ramsey play much "bigger" than Danny does. I've been trying to isolate the difference. I'm not kidding when I say this; i think it's the equipment they wear. It's not arm strength. I don't think it's pocket presence, which I know a lot of people will say it is. Ryan Leaf was confident in the pocket but you know how that story ends.

No doubt he will be good, but if we are comparing him to his brother and his accomplishments, it is way to early to tell if he can cut it.

Even if he is as good as Peyton, does anyone want to tell me how many Super Bowls he has?

I couldn't agree more. I think he will be good, but his father was good also, and we know how well that team did collectively.

You know what would help combat Eli Manning, a guy like Sean Taylor, you an't throw touchdown passes when your WR won't cross the line of scrimmage because they are scared.

I wouldn't be scared if it was Peyton. Colts play in a sissyass division--come to the NFC East, get slapped around for awhile, then tell me whats up. They already lost a top defensive player bc of Peyton's paycheck--you have to field a whole team in our division. Not scared at all.

Hey Gibbs faced some great QB playing for the other teams in his last stint and made them look bad. So I am not too worried.

This is actually good for us because we want to contend this year, and if they start eli then they are just throwing the season away. the worst part is that it means jesse palmer isnt there qb for the future. i remember we got about 7 acks on him when collins got hurt.

agreed! But seriously, manning still has alot to accomplish. Besides even if the Giants draft him who is gonna block for him? From what I've seen and heard they still need some assitance there. Vick had to pay some dues and the kid is still learning. Personally I would be more scared of Vick than a Manning anyday.
