Just wanted to give you heads on the forums. We will be doing database backups of the forums in the event of emergency or catastrophe. In order to do the database backup we need to lock users from posting. This is to ensure that we get a reliable backup of the database. We will be planning these backups on a weekly basis and will inform you when they are scheduled. These database backups will protect us in the event of a server crash or any other unforseeable disaster. We would be able to use the backup to recreate the database. Normally, you would do daily backups but we don't want to lock the boards daily to get this done.
At 11:30pm EST tonight, the forums will be locked for approximately 15 mins maybe lesser to run the backup. We ask that you not be in on the board at that time. After the backup is completed, the forums will be unlocked.
