Default Crazy Idea I just had...

What if we either trade Gardner or trade down to get another 1st day pick, so we'd have about 4 picks total, so what if we did this...
Trade Gardner:
1st pick 5 = Sean Taylor
3rd round = best TE avaliable, Ben Moa or whoever
5th round = Jarret Payton (won't play much but he's alot better than Candidate and Betts, fight for second spot with Cartright)
6th round = a big big DT

thoughts?

if we get more pics I think after Taylor we need to address the Defensive line before anything else

"A big, big DT" in the 6th round? Are there any cleaning products near your desk? Does Elvis talk to you?

I just don't think there will be anybody at 6th round worth taking who might have a real impact. Also Jarrett Payton? I can't believe he is better than Betts or even Canidate on 3rd down. I think RB is actually a strong point now right down to Sultan McCullough.

What we should try to figure out is a way to trade down and still get Taylor. Can we figure out who the Lions would take if we traded with Cleveland (assuming they wouldn't take Taylor either). I mean Dallas did this two years ago with Williams (dropped 3 slots, picked up a 3rd rounder, and still got him). That is what we need to do.

Figure our offense is good for 20 a game, two or three defensive players, a good attitude and a real HC = success.

Anyone remember Mario Monds, we have tried this before, lets use a higher pick on a defensive lineman

Think that Detroit is pinpointing Winslow at #6 if he falls, having a TE in the West Coast offense is crucial. Browns though, if they don't trade up to get Gallery, might be looking at Taylor at #7. I mean, what don't the Browns need at this point, are they set at any position other than QB?

Are they set at QB? I don't think so. With Couch being shopeed around and Holecomb never impressing me they could use an upgrade at QB too

Don't forget Gibbs has a nack for finding good players who go undrafted. Maybe he'll find a diamond in the ruff who'll be our starting DT & DE for years to come!!!
