Default No More Holsey

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...len&id=1824539

Unrestricted free-agent defensive lineman Bernard Holsey, who started all 16 games for Washington in 2003, signed a one-year contract with the St. Louis Rams Friday.

Am I the only one who was expecting Holsey to be here next year? Did I miss something?

Heck, I had all but forgotten about him....

Not sure if we'll miss him or not.

I thought that he was solid, maybe our most consistent d-lineman last year. When I heard this earlier, I too was shocked. I thought that he was under contract for one more year.

true. he's a journeyman, backup, good for giving someone a rest in the rotation. thats about it. he is only 6'-2 and 286. renaldo wynn is bigger than that (6'-3, 292). we had a 4 headed monster at tackle rotation, and basically we kept the biggest one (hailey is 6'-4 and 325) to stuff the run.

It was pretty widely known that he wasn't going to be back. He signed a one year deal last season and has been unrestricted and unsigned since the end of last year.

I was shocked when I saw the news, but these are my thoughts too.

Not surprised ..... every team in the league is looking at the DL coming from our team for "BACKUP" players. They ALL knew we had nothing but BUs!!!!

can we say we have enough depth at the position to say good bye so quickly to any of those (so far) not so good Linemen ?

Thanks anyway to this guy's contribution, I hope he'll find some playing time in his new team.

I knew Holsey wasn't under contract, but I thought the Skins would re-sign him. A mistake not to, in my opinion. He's an average player, but on the whole I had him as the most productive lineman on the team last year. I expected him to be a starter this year.

Sad thing is, that tell the sad state of the DLine last season, he was the most effective DT we had last season. I am not broken up over it, but Holsey would have provided good depth, with starting expereince.
