ahhh. the plot thickens. i imagine we offered a first round pick and they countered with samuels. then a lot of head scratching ensued, and a verbal argument between buges and williams. hahaha. gibbs already let williams have shawn taylor in the draft. i doubt he'll be willing to back down from QB protection to get an end. the questions now will be, how has the physical therapy progressed on samuels' surgically repaired shoulder, and can the backups become starters and provide quality run blocking and pass protection under Bugel, enough so to satisfy him and Gibbs. add to that the necessary business end of the bargain, the cap implications, present and future, this being the part of the NFL that is new to Gibbs, but which Bugel and Williams are accustomed to, and the great minds in the staff should be able to arrive at the best over-all decision for the team.

I personally don't think anything is going to happen with this situation. Miami, worse case scenario, will get Ogunleye for half the season. If he sits out the whole thing, he won't get credit for an accrued season and therefore miss out on unrestricted Free Agency. I think he is headed for a Franchise tag next season.

this is a very good point. they get him for half the season for what? $450 K? what a deal! he will still have to perform because in his mind he'll be heading into free agency or as you mentioned, the franchise tag. so miami gets the premiere sack artist of the AFC in a contract year for the minimum salary.
