Default How do you rate the majors?

I think we my have already done this but wanted to do it again anyway. The question is how do you rate the four majors in golf and why, lets hear it guys if you have no reason just list them(you new golfer we want to hear from you as well)

1. The masters.........When you talk about the green jacket and a course that was made to hold a touranamet once a year this is it, all the lingo second cut vs the ruff, patrons vs gallery what a great tourny one of the best things in all of golf

2. The open (british) this is the one most people disspute cause you talking america vs europe, not to be anti american but they have been playing this one for over 133 years plus old and young Tom Morris St. Andrews and all thoes deep pot bunkers totaly different type of golf then you will see anyother time of year.

3. The U.S. Open......Love the fact that they play this one at public links but lately it seems they do not want anyone to win with the way they set up sometimes, the fact they had to run out and water the greens between grops cuase the pga cut the grass so short is a joke, this could be the best of them all but right now is a third spot for me.

4. The PGA .......honestly do not know why this one is even a major does very little for me, i guees they thought they neede four to call them majors but you will see some great golf in this one and the crowd is american so you get to hear lots of drunks yell " in the hole" on par 5's i must say that people yelling that is one of the worst things in all of sports.

I think the British has to be number one. These are the courses where golf was invented. Then the Masters, US Open, and PGA. Masters is an incredible event, but the other two just seem to be add ons.

For me the Masters is the best one, but this weekends BC was pretty good - I love those pot bunkers.

In the UK they just call it "The Open Championship."

1. "The Open Championship" It's where golf was founded and the courses are mythical.

2. The Masters. Got to love the aura of the Green Jacket.

3. US Open. Need a US champion.

4. PGA. Seems like a manufactured event so that they can have a true grand slam.

The U.S. Open when it is held at Pebble is the best.

1. US Open

I love that through the qualifying process almost anybody has a chance to compete and theoretically win this event.

2. British Open

Same reason. If they would ever play it at Portrush, I might move it up to the #1 spot.

3. tie - the other two

I dislike the exclusivity of these two.

I like the British for it's history, and it's unique look (no trees, bumpy courses)

The others I really don't have a reason one way of the other. I listed them that way considering how much I find myself breaking my neck to watch them.
